Reading the topic “Resources” category on Buildings panel gives me an idea about expanding current UI elements to give user some more ways to select what to build and additional way to navigate between buildings.
Currently selecting a resource on the Settlement items panel we can see something like this:
Those icons shows us buildings which can produce this resource or where the resource is used.
What if it we can build by clicking on those icons?
Use case:
I need planks. I open the Settlement item panel and see that it can be produced using a saw pit. I left-click on the saw pit icon, and it allows me to place this building on the map, just as if I had done so from the Buildings menu.
And right-clicking allows me to select the first saw pit I built earlier.
Another use case:
When I select a saw pit or any other production building I can see the list of produced items

When I click on certain produced item there is a production limit displaying, almost the same as on the Settlement items panel

but without additional information about Produced by/Used by. What if we can see this information there as well and also show it for Required materials? (ofc with the same behaviour on click as described above)
My point is - a player will be able to look for production related building right from inside the building and select what to build right there. Or to jump to one of existing buildings related to this production chain.
Another example:
And by clicking on apiary icon in Produced by section I jump to building the apiary.
I believe it won’t be too difficult to implement, since all these functions already exist, you just need to get them running. But of course it is up to you, my dear developers.
