Agreed, it feels odd that the compost yard only supports one worker. It should be as simple as, say, scaling up the firewood splitter when your demand grows.
It seems like it would be difficult because of the cost of maintaining the compost yard. Build another compost yard. Luckily, there is plenty of land around the village.
