Could this be a possbility or in a new DLC? I think this is rather popular with other ARPGs, and another goal to strive for once you got GG game gear.
Good way to check game balances too. (See which build is falling behind in wave clear).

Second it. I just started the game but it would be great to test later your characters after getting BiS items in every slot.
On top of that it’d be nice that every wave above level 110 has a modifier that increases the stat of the item drop, if only by very little is enough.
How is this different from Crucible? Other than ‘infinity’?
Crucible is more like a gladiator arena where you farm fix set of mobs, and have to gamble for whether you want to continue and risk lose all rewards.
What im suggesting is similar to the infinite void in the game Chronicon, you still get normal drops from mobs on every level, and the randomised map continues infinitely with a random boss on every few wave/map. Torchlight/torchlight 2 also have this system which makes testing your build very effective. It also makes the end game abit spicier.
Well, the ‘‘infinity’’ part is a sigificant difference, right?
Secondly, the thing about Crucible that I can’t stand is that it happens in an arena, which is very small, compared to the areas in the main game. After 20 or 30 waves, it becomes mind-numbingly boring, for me, to move around in a rather small, identical space and kill hordes of monsters.
I’d really, really like it if there was a Crucible-like mode with infinite waves, which would take place in the story areas.
Bump because i think this game would have hugely benifited from this, because it allows you not to farm the same area over and over, and fully utilises randomised maps/bosses/mobs.
Also an excellent indicator of balancing checks, if a build is truelly broken then it can do 10 or more areas than other builds, which shows up quite nicely.
Are there even random maps in this game? I thought only some blockades switched around every time. If it’s the same maps then it would get boring just as fast as just going there.
Really good idea.
Even though quite some people have voiced their support for randomly generated maps it has been made abundantly clear that this will not be implemented for Grim Dawn. Had Crate wanted to go that route, they would have implemented it years ago and based the whole game experience on it.
The blockades that were mentioned are randomly distributed among a fixed set of positions for each level and that’s about as much random level generation as we will get.
Although maps are fixed, but which map is chosen for the next level of the infinite wave dungeon can be random right? One map can be a mirror of SOT another into bastion of chaos. Lots of choices here.
Yep, you could have areas of the game (not necessarily dungeons only, although they make most sense), and put them on shuffle.
I am not sure that’s doable with mods
Unless I put a rift at the end of each map and make it teleport me to a random section of a different map each time. And the player can repeat it as many times as they want
Just not sure, if this will work
Yes, that’s what I was thinking. I also don’t know if it’s possible.
didnt you already make a valid suggestion for this in your comment? Your suggestion works similar to torchlight 2, where you get teleported via a rift to a random map lay out. But obviously you cant go back, so you need to make a choice to stay farming the existing layout or going forward.
It could be easy on the coding too, the previous map is deleted and a new map is created, saves memory.
