So made me an Inquisitor recently…I was thinking of going with an Aether one Maybe an Apostate (As spectral binding DOES boost aether and its a huge help in surviving) But am not too sure are there any better Aether Inquisitor builds or would an elemental inquisitor be better and if so what would be an optimal second class? For the record have been using an Aether 2hand weapon soulsplitter and aetherlord signets as for skills I have maxed Inquisitor’s seal and the modifier that add’s elemental/retaliation
Imo elemental is way better, you have fuckton of RR and damage, also even defense if with shaman.
Aether inquisitor…I’ve thought about it but never actually played it. Word of pain gives RR, spectral binding gives RR, Storm Box can be made Aether, there’s an item that gives aether RR to aura of censure. Certainly there are options.
But
Elemental (tri, dual, or single) will always be better (IMO) because there is simply more support for it in Inquisitor items and skills and constellations. Aura of censure will give RR for elemental, then you can take crown, viper, and/or ultos for more. If you play shaman you get wind devil, occultist gives curse of frailty/vulnerability, nightblade gives veil of shadow, etc. I’d look at Vindicator (lightning) and Infiltrator (cold) before I look at an aether inquisitor.
If you’re dead set on aether, the Mythical Flames of Wrath is a must, which also gives a boost to spectral binding, so necromancer is a good call. Now that you’re an Apostate, do you want to be a caster, a gunner, or melee? I would recommend melee since aura of censure operates centered on the player, but it’s really up to you. This would probably be best achieved with further elemental-aether conversion so maybe a decree of aldritch for your main weapon?

From what I know can turn Siphon soul to Aether as well as Essence drain having some Aether as well but am not COMPLETELY sold either way yet surprising considering I’m close to 45 heh. I started the innquisitor planning to go gunner but quickly lost interest in that when it made moving a wee bit more difficult (I’ve moved when I’ve meant to shoot and vice versa so many times…). I’ve been mostly just using Inquisitor’s seal and the modifier that add’s elemental damage and retaliation I also have been as of today use the relic arbiter,the weapon soulsplitter (Converts like 50% of physical to Aether) and two aetherlord ring’s while it has been slow going with bosses has worked fairly well but am by no mean’s married to the idea of Aether Inquisitor.
