Chaos and aether damage have no DoTs. Both of the inquisitor damage conversion transmog convert a skill with a damage over time component into a damage type that cannot convert it. (Storm box becomes aether, tether remains electrocute, flames of ignaffar becomes chaos/vit, meaning the lightning/electrocute becomes vit/vit decay, while the fire becomes… chaos/burn). This makes itemizing and picking devotions rather hard, and the conversion transmogrifiers pretty bad.
This affects blood orb of ch’thon as well, meaning that for a deceiver you’re much better off going the route of converting chaos into an elemental type, if you want to use skills from both masteries.
My suggestions as to how to deal with this would be to change the damage conversion :
make FoI convert to Vitality/Acid damage (this preserves the occultist feel, maybe?)
make lightning tether convert to really, any type besides aether/chaos.
Small aside :
Word of pain is a much more viable skill to have a transmuter for aether/chaos since it wouldn’t lose any damage, due to its unique psuedo DoT nature, though its somewhat low damage may make it unattractive as well for later in the game.
felt similar frustrations with necro converting vit to aether and losing vitality decay
i get that it’s way too late in the game’s life cycle to introduce new damage types but it’s completely bewildering to me that there’s no chaos/aether dot, it’s a really glaring omission and it’s senseless from mechanical, balance, and thematic perspectives
