Picked up GD a week ago and thoroughly enjoying it in 3D (GTX760, Asus VG278H). No bugs or crashes experienced thus far (level 18 Nightblade close to encountering the Warden)…things worthy of mention from my perspective:
enormous map packed with content…exploration is fun as opposed to tedious churn
challenging (unlike other recent genre efforts…mention no names, you devil)
Versatile in terms of classes, drops, customisation, builds etc
first class graphics and audio…terrific moody, gritty ambiance (no gimmicky cartoon imagery)
3D works right out of the box…yes, I love 3D, I really, really do !!
Very high replay value…I can see myself wiling away excessive hours on this, trying all available classes
Reminds me of Adventures of Van Helsing…yes, I really liked that game !
Now, this 3d thing of which you speak…your gpu/screen are actively adding 3d to the game? This is something you can do with any game or has grim dawn been coded to be compatible? Never heard about that aspect before but I know a guy with a tv that puts anything you watch into 3d, even the brady bunch. Not a fan of 3d myself, but if it works, good to put that info out there.
Almost all newer games are being built 3D ready. You do however require a pair of 3D glasses as well as a 3D ready PC monitor ($500).
Since Grim Dawn is Alpha, Nvidia hasn’t provided a rating yet, but I can confirm that it works out of the box and looks gorgeous ! In fact Grim Dawn is looking even better than D3 in 3D.
So far however, Doom 3 BFG Edition is looking the best in 3D.
