Is it HIGHLY recommended that we max out both classes passive bar?

Idk the exact name for it but I’m talking about the bar that goes up to 50 for each of our 2 class selections.

No it’s not, pretty sure most people don’t.

It’s called the mastery bar and you don’t need to max them both. You get better stats if you do, but most people seem to just pick enough to get every skill they want and then put the rest in skills.

no need to max both if you have grabbed the exclusive skill you want… but some builds tend to max both masteries… sample : blademasters that use oleron wrath and execution… conjurers that use pet powers or pyro that utilizd firestrike chaos. it depends on the build your aiming for… though personally i love builds that just go for 50/32 or even less:rolleyes:

all my builds are between 50/32 and 50/50, less i have the impresion to basically waste a class  but as others have said there’s no need to max it at all

Thanks everyone!! Happy to see this place is so active

no need to max but it’s a terrible idea to leave it at 10 or something. my builds have either 50/40 or 50/50.

Only go as far as you need for the good skills. For example my witchblade maxes soldier for menhirs bulwark but only goes as far as 32 on occultist for aspect of the guardian. Some of my builds I go even less on the second mastery. The mastery bar is a waste of points unless your aiming for a skill, unless you REALLY need the stats or hp for some reason, but you can usually make up for them other ways.

somewhere between 50/32 and 50/50 is most common, although the level cap change in the expansion will probably encourage me to go 50/50 on most builds because HP is so important.

No, it isnt, many builds dont max one of the masteries. Max both only if you really need to get useful skills for that (for example, ranged 2-h chaos Pyromancer will want both Brimstone and Possesion, thus has to max both masteries).

It isn’t mandatory but I always do it unless I have an extremely compelling reason not to.

It actually depends on the Class/Sub setup mostly, imo.

For instance, a Spellbreaker will almost ALWAYS max both bars.

Whereas a Warder will pretty much always 50/32 one way or the other.

A lot of this has to do with the fact of certain classes having their only truly desirable level 50 Mastery skills being exclusive/only one active at a time.

e.g. Oleron’s Rage, Menhir’s Bulwark, Stormcaller’s Pact, and Primal Bonds, for Warders.

Whilst there ARE other end-cap skills in such Dual-Classes - such as Conjure Primal Spirit, in the case of the aforementioned Warder - those skills tend to go hand in hand with one of the Exclusive End-Cap skills within the same tree e.g. Conjure Primal Spirit with Primal Bond.

Primal Bond/Storm Caller’s Pact Warders will stop Soldier at 32, or sometimes 40, for Scars of Battle (I prefer to nab Scars of Battle… + Skills Items alone make it more than worth the investment, as it will provide a couple of Augments worth of res for a single point).

Oleron’s Rage/Menhir’s Bulwark Warders might well stop at 25, if their Stats are legit.

Dual-Classes such as Spellbreakers and Firestrike Commandos want to take their Mastery Points all the way to 50/50, for two-fold reasons:

Firstly, whilst they only have one Mastery that actually has Exclusive skills, their other Mastery has great End-Cap Non-Exclusive damage skills that a large percentage of builds are built around.

Secondly, and equally importantly, said Dual-Classes’ stat distributions are quite weak otherwise - primarily in regards to Physique, and thus HP pools and Constitution.
