is it me? or does the GOG version run faster and more stable then the steam version?

OK, so i am in a slightly odd position. I have both versions of GD 1 on steam and 1 on GOG.

OK first thing i noticed is that the GOG version seems to launch faster, like lots faster.

Second it seems more stable, like i haven’t crashed yet like i do daily on the steam version.

Third thing is well you probably won’t believe it but i am not getting any micro stutter now.

Am i going nuts here? is it in my imagination or is this weirdness really happening?

I allways told that steam fuck the performance of every game! Look at the forum, me and more people told about it in the beggining of alpha… Titan Quest have the same strutter because of steam, Torchlight 1 and 2 too… every game that runs trough Steam have strutter related to Steam only!

The more I read, the more wrong you are.

It depends on the systems:
If you have a big PC you should see no difference,
if you have a too small pc you’ll see no difference either.
If you have a pc just big enough for the game alone (drm-free), then adding Steam will harm the game.
Logical. Steam is for the richer.
