Wanted to ask if there’s any good spawn to farm legendaries? I’ve just beaten act 1 boss on Elite at lvl 69 and he drops lvl 50 items. Feels like I’ve somehow overleveled for act 1 but I’m struggling with really bad weapons atm. I’m currently hoping to find Mindwarp which would suit my level and my build but idk where to farm. Regular mobs tend to drop 65+, which is why I find it quite strange that the act 1 boss drops lvl 50 items.
Hi Rewlz,
Unless I’ve totally forgotten how loot works, the drops from a given boss are affected by the level of the boss, which is in turn dependent on the level of the zone he is in which is determined by the player level with a hardcap from the difficulty. So if you hit a boss with a level 50 cap, he’ll drop level 50 items, even if you’re level 70. You said you were in elite? IIRC the level cap of elite for the hidden laboratory is 60, though a more experienced poster may have to correct me on this since I’m away from my gaming pc and can’t check right now. Did you happen to notice what level Krieg was when you were fighting him? That would give some indication as to what level cap the area has.
Further, item level for green and yellows does not have a granular progression. There may be a level 40 version of an affix/item and then the next level version is 60, not 45 or 50 as you may expect. This means that you might be rolling for level 60 items but only getting level 50 affixes/items as the next available version of the result you roll isn’t until a higher level than 60.
As for farming, maybe the crucible can help you out, but if you are having difficulties with this character’s gear already it might be a bad idea to challenge the crucible. Have you hit all the 1-shot chests in act 1 elite/normal difficulty?
If you are having problems with weapons I would look at what the Blacksmith can do for you, or the shops. Shops can spawn with some pretty nice stuff, especially if you’re sorely lacking currently it could be a quick way to gain some DPS. I would also look at seeing how well you’ve allocated skills and devotions which could also give a major boost when tweaked.
Most legendaries have a level requirement of either 50, 75, 84, or 94. If you’re lv69 (nice) then you’re probably right on the edge where the game considers it okay for you to be seeing both lv50 and lv75 legendaries. Get a few more levels and you’ll likely only see 75s when a legendary drops.
If you’re really looking to farm legendaries, you should be aiming at getting to ultimate ASAP and/or doing crucible runs. Crucible 150+ on challenger/gladiator gets you a decent amount of legendaries every run.
Best ways to get legendaries in order of efficiency (IMO):
- Crucible
- Nemeses
But you already need a relatively good build for the above.
- Rouguelike dungeons
- One shot chest and shrines
- Areas heavy with heroes and bosses
I suggest running valbury for crystals, arkovia for shattered souls and moonsilauke, lower ugdenbog + ancient grove for blooms and kubacabra. Cronley is popular for fabius and cronley rings. Assorted legendaries will come along, at a nosebleed pace though.
All farming should be done at ultimate and gladiator at max level (with some exceptions - if you farm for specific mythical legendaries with 84 min level it’s best to try and stay at around 85 level). Before you get there don’t worry about farming. Just cap your resists and get your devotions and skills right.
So even if you don’t have a build that can do Gladiator 150, you should still do it?
Efficiency must also factor in what build you currently have.
The OP clearly do not have a Gladiator 150 build, yet.
If you read very very carefully, there’s a key word in my post that you have clearly missed.
Even Aspirant/Challenger 150 runs can net decent drops*

I was not referring to you post, but the post above mine by ya_
take it easy m8
I know, I was referring to the post by ya_ who clearly have forgotten how it’s like to start at rock bottom.
Then use the quote button, mate. A little thinking goes a long way.
Isn’t it standard these days that if you don’t use the quote, you are replying the the message on top of you?
Are you insulting me btw?
