Gotta say, I like the piecemeal designs far better. The war axe looks good but it lacks the visceral gut ripping feel of weapons like the saw blade axe.
I just started playing Grim Dawn for the first time and I just love how it brings back the old Diablo 2 feeling with a new touch to things and new mechanics and ideas. I loved how you surprised me when I combined 3 materials and they gave me a new ability! That shocked me. Loved it.
I was just wondering where all the two handed items were and I guess I now have my answer. lol
I love small companies and small groups of people working on games. They always put their soul and love into the product like a man who takes pride in the wooden chair he is carving out of wood.
This is how the world should be… Not these massive corporations pumping games out on conveyer belts.
I would like to see these sort of weapons have a good chance of rolling prefix suffix combo with an " of vitality" suffix to help compensate for the sacrifice of a shield and shield skills.
I imagine the arcanist with its shielding skill will be popular with the Two handed builds for this reason.
I really like the scrap metal hammer, this looks like something I might cobble together with the shit I find lying around a welders shop. Also the double bladed axe looks pretty “deathmetal”, matches Issac’s spiked shoulders. Just need some spiked greaves, gloves.

Thank you for stating this, I thought my life had gone into a serious spiral and I lost track of what week it was, or that this was an older post that i missed :S
Kinda disagree with skewing the chance in getting “of vitality” since some people would rather be all pure damage and glass cannon with a 2 handed melee weapon.
In any case the stats on 2 handed weapons will most undoubtedly be higher then 1 handed weapons. So if you do find a “of vitality” 2 handed weapon it will be quite good defensively I would imagine.
What a nice surprise! I’m not a fan of 2h weapon especially blunt weapon, but my duck, those are gorgeous models!

Given that the pics show axes, maces and swords, I’d go with three types, just like the 1h ones…

But I remain curious… how will these work with skills? If I start a Soldier and wish to use certain skills that require sword and board, will these skills be augmented to include 2h weapons as well?
