i agree, nice idea
Now that I think about it, it will still be more advantageous to have one handed weapon plus a shield, both of them with gems (a lot of them can be inserted in “weapons and off hands”), so you would still more to compensate for the absence of a shield with its gem…We go back to the issue with using two-handed ranged weapons as well…
Maybe gems that only work with two handed weapons?..Or add extra bonuses when applied to two-handed weapons?..
Or a future class specialized in two-handed weapon techniques !
They’re aiming to expand possibly up to 12 classes after release but only Arcanist will be added by release (I believe).
If they achieve the 12 classes I would strongly suspect a class that takes advantage of two-handers would make it into the mix.
If not, you (or anyone) could try your hand at making it happen when modding is available.

Perhaps all 2 handed weapons could also include a small arc?
I really hope this happens. I dual wield right now with two materia, one in each sword granting two separate skills and it is quite nice.
A class dedicated to two handed weapons would be so nice.
actually, different socket number for each piece of equipment would be very nice
Cannot agree here. Too much is definitely not good. Don’t forget, that on higher difficulty levels components will be stronger. Two sockets in 2h weapons should be fine, just to fill shield’s absence. Or, perhaps components for 2h weapons should be better to favour them?
Indeed. Very fitting for the feel or the game or at least what I’ve experienced in the last 3 hours. I actually really digging the rifles and other gun models. Top notch, imo.
WHAT! awezome
i’m very happy to see that the 2h items kickstarter goals is already being realised. This was a relatively big disappointment in the original TQ, the lack of 2h weapons.
The 2h models look great, can’t wait to see them ingame. Any ETA as to when we might expect them to pop up?
