I don’t think it will surpass the 400k, but hey if it does Nobody minds, but like everybody else I’d rather have 2h, more areas (namely dungeons) and my favourite, more monster and animations
It was more a matter of the fact that, though it may not seem like it, adding two-handed weapons actually may be even more work than a new town. I felt like people wouldn’t understand that though and might feel like we were being dicks if we made that the highest goal. Plus, we do really want to get them in… and in the case of Rhis, the idea of wielding savage 2h weapons is somewhat of an obsession.
What if they were added later in future expansions?
I’m sure the 1001 ideas Rhis and Arthur have will make it into the expansions at some point. They just need the programming/art talent to make it a reality.
Try to add a tier or two between $35.00 and $50.00 before the end of the kickstarter.
Adding like $5.00 to $10.00 (more or less) should help, considering there’s at least 1k people who just might go for the $5.00 extra bucks for some other in-game items / alpha access / extra game key at launch.
It is currently already sitting at $340k and looking like it will make over $350k before the weekend is over (though sunday is a notoriously slow day), which leaves another full 5 days. I’m becoming confident that a figure of $420k-$450k is very much reachable at the moment. If (big IF) GD gets a strong finish in the last few days like most projects seem to have, I’m hopeful for Crate that it will even go over the $450k mark… I think medierra still has a few surprise updates and other media events up his sleeve though, so those should also help out.
I’m 99% confident that we’ll easily hit 400k.
I agree, it’s looking pretty good. I am looking forward to that ‘new environment’ discussion SO MUCH! There will be great ideas (Like the above mentioned Giant Greenhouse).
Perhaps this has already been mentioned (?) but here is a thought. I do not have the exact figures, but before the kickstarter project you could pre-order Grim Dawn on the grim dawn website. I think in the 2 years Crate ent. got about $70k worth of pre-orders ? (as mentioned I do not have the exact figures). If crate were to make pre-orders posibble again after the KS project ends (that would be next week), perhaps Crate could get an additional $35k for the next year.
what I am hinting at, if the KS projects ends on 450k, well, everyone seems to want the two handed melee weapons, but I rather see the extra town.
so my suggestion is to re instate the ‘buy now’ function on the website next week. perhaps add the digital deluxe and boxed special edition (without the kickstarter medals).
I think $400k is practically a given based on currently pledge levels. Throw in the usual surge seen at the end by last minute backers, and we should overshoot that a good amount crosses fingers
… this has been the plan
$450k

I do not understand something here. Rifle/shotgun at the moment is one or two-handed? I know, silly question, but games are not hyper-realistic
You can’t just swap out the image of a rifle with a 2handed sword and go to town.
Maybe if it was a qualta blade but I’m guessing it’s not.
Yeah, looptop’s right. When you consider how guns are held vs. something like a pike or large sword, there’s no comparison. Plus, I don’t think rifles are generally swung
Even different types of two-handed weapons are held and swung in very different ways. If you used a pike the same as a maul, you might find it somewhat less effective. And by “less effective” in this context, I mean it’d look completely wrong.
I just watched the main kickstarter video in HD. Resolution makes a difference. The character is holding a shotgun / rifle in two hands. There was no question (doing Jedi mind trick:p).
Can’t wait to play demolition class. Kick ass! (Big Bertha! :D)
