Spent a few hours building up a reasonable (>120 people) size village. Up in the mountains where minerals are abundant but fertility and forage targets are hard to find. I’ve sent my people out far and wide looking for some fertile valley or some prime blueberries growing by a lake, but everywhere I travel its more of the same resources I have close to home…
Might it be possible to mix up the biomes a little bit to give a reason to explore the map to the full extent?.. Maybe to find that hidden valley of plenty, or a mountain made of pure gold when those resources don’t exist near the village
Did you choose a single biome map or a random map? As far as I understand, if you choose one biome that is what you get but if you choose random you get multiple biomes at random. I think its in the hover over tooltip.
I can confirm that, I did a random map playthrough and I had really diverse resources, like my coal was so low on map, that I had to go and constantly fight with wolves dens on the other map corner for it
Random is my favourite map, you get some pretty fun stuff! My current town is on a mountain plateau near permafrost tundra with a lowland lake down the slope.
