Lame 0 Physic/Spirit Blademaster Betenig gladiator crucible

LAME 90 CUNNING BM

Like a title says this BM build is with all attribute points invested in cunning.

Why lame? Because it is lame, its not a proper BM its a tank.

I was leveling all to cunning BM for completely different purpose and this I did for lulz.

Someone wrote in old Uber ultimate dps BM build that BM with all points invested into cunning cant beat the crucible gladiator, it was a challenge to prove him wrong.

To make things clear I dont like crucible, I dont even play crucible, did it few times and I find concept of it repulsing, so Im not an expert in besting crucible.

With this build I got trough all three difficulty levels, first two I finished without using any crucible banners, buffs, or any kind of consumables.

On gladiator tried same technique but died two times.

Third time took two buffs and two banners, used tonic of mending from time to time and it was easy. Maybe I got lucky with Zantarin, Mos, Ben combo on the end, but seriously had no real issue or trouble betting it.

Here is the picture of the build with constant auras, Pneumatic burst and Deadly momentum on:

Main issue for this build was how to equip Markovian armor without investing into physique?

Answer is owercaped veterancy and military conditioning, Bull devotion and some armor/ring components.

For equipping rings and amulet I used components to increase spirit.

Equipping this build requires a loot of micromanagement:

Grimclac and devotion setup: http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-pa1UMC

You can take one point from Targo and put it in Crane if you want to make free one ring component slot, or if you want you can change targo for something else, I took it mostly for massive HP, and shield wall that comes handy to use when overguard is on cd.

In closing:
BM is definitely my favorite class, BM builds can range from totally Uber like ultimate dps machines to tank builds like this one and even tankier, all viable.
Mentioning that I will rework this build into old school dual wielding pierce BM and try to run it try gladiator crucible.

Edit: Just noticed thread title, lol, im to tired sry for that or any other typo :frowning:

If you decide not to go full cunning with proper gear and different devotion setup you should get something like this:

why not using a Dermapteran Slicer + Blade of Nadaan for a 100% phys to pierce conversion and abuse Night’s Chill debuff.

I was thinking about it but didnt have enough +% pierce dmg to support it, markovian set is +% to physique, and this build doesn’t get much from other sources :frowning:

Just checked your devo setup, any reason to not take Targo’s Hammer ? this is probably the best proc for a shield build.

No, not really, you can take Anvil instead of Targo, but will lose shield wall and massive amount of HP.

Not necessarily, since Giant’s blood is probably not mandatory for your survivability you could sacrifice it for Targo’s Hammer + Assassin’s Mark. (example: http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-zGLUCm)

In Crucible the faster you clear, the safer you will be.

You are probably right. I was afraid to lose Behemoth cuz this build is relying heavily on HP regeneration, with PB and overguard on, you have close to 900 hp per sec regen, with procs it goes to almost 1.5 k per sec.
I tied it also with judic signet set, when everything procs you have more than 2,5 k per sec  Only problem was that you lose to much DPS imo, but you are literally unkilable

Edit: Just checked your devo, you cant lose lions 10 spirit its necessary to be able to equip jewellery.

I revoked this build devotion setup, dropped Behemoth took anvil for Targos hammer amazing proc, put point in first node of Dire Bear and one to Trees 8% HP node, took one point from Targo and put it in scales first node.
Didnt lose much HP (~100), lost some HP regen but got more than 1 k dps, some DA, and fabulous proc. Facetanked Fabius with no issue, no pots, like walking try park, he is jet to proc my Menhirs Will.

Again kudos to Drizzto for help, what can I say that guy really know things.

What other weapons can work with build? Warborn Gavel?

Any weapon without conversion to pierce, or any other conversion so Warborne Gavel would be ok, but good rolled Bone S is better imo.

What’s so bad about pierce damage? Doesn’t NB’s veil shred pierce resistance? I’m thinking of using this weapon as a sword is more fitting of a Blademaster theme.

Pierce dmg is great and I use that sword in my other BM setup (http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47967).
But this setup with this devotions, with Markovian armor set or even with warborn armor set doesent have enough +% to pierce to support pierce dmg so you need some weapon without conversion to pierce.
Edit: Ofc you can try it with pierce but it would require devotion setup change, some skill points redistribution, gear changes and it wouldn’t be so efficient imo.

Good day

I would like to know if this build is still viable in 1.0.0.7 ?
Did it get better or worse ?

Are there some pointers for leveling ?

Any guide/help will be appreciated.
Thank you

It is viable.
I cant tell for sure is it better or worse, cuz Im not playing this build any more.
That guy is now this: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47967 and occasionally this http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48783
Since is not using full markovian set or brake morale its not hurt with last upgrade to much. Maybe its even buffed due to % dmg increase with cunning.

Be advised that this is showcase build, and if you decide to play it think about investing some points in physique and some in spirit, it will make your life hole lot easier.

Abut leveling you can lvl it up using sword and board from start or check post number 15 in DW melee BM thread I gave you link for, you can find there some pointers.

Also this was latest devo setup I was using with this build: http://grimcalc.com/build/1007-saX1dp

Any time

Wow, thank you for the fast reply !

Do you think i should use your more current build ?
OR isnt this a good build for first time playthrough…what about Hardcore ?

Obviously I have no gear to speak of as well.

Once again thank you.

Dont mention it

If you decide to go sword and board its more than suitable for hardcore. Any build with soldier in it that goes sword and board is suitable for hard core tho.

Since you are starting from scratches I would recommend to you not to go full cunning. Investing points in spirit and physique would make you life much easier gear vise, also you could use some other devotion setup, although this ones I posted are also good.
Definitely latest devo setup for this build is the best one. But with some points invested in physique and spirit, you should consider changing it to something else.
If you want I could make you some other devo setups that would be better if you decide not to go full cunning.

I just started the game and want to try this build. I’ll put up some points in physique and spirit to make it easier. Any input on devotions going that route, and tips for leveling would be appreciated.

For leveling use 2H blade arc its by far fastest or if you want to get familiar with your build from start go S&B.
If you are planing to go with some points in physique and spirit I would recommend different devo setup and there would be no need to put so many points in veterancy and military conditioning.

Devotion setup: http://grimcalc.com/build/1007-JPgYur

On end you should get something more or less like this:

Jov,

this character don’t have full cunning or am i wrong ?

You are not wrong
If you want to build S&B BM its better not to go full cunning and put points in physique and spirit.
