And you think BM is better than WB for S&B ?

Well if you decide to go phys dmg S&B there is not much overall difference between WB, BM, Commando and warder, Batlemage is somewhat weaker but not significantly.
WB can deliver highest real dmg output due to COF although its paper dmg is lower than commando or BM.
BM is tankiest due to veil of shadow (probably best defensive aura/skill in the game), COS, shadow dance and BB followed closely by others.
But having shadow strike and blitz for mobility is priceless, so yes I do prefer BM over the other S&B setups.

So use blade arc when leveling and switch back to cadence towards the end?

Yes always level a soldier like this.

I’m preparing a general leveling guide for every class will try to post it tomorrow.

Awesome. I’ll hopefully be able to do my own builds eventually, but starting out these guides are definitely helpful!

Like IS said, and dont forget to take kraken wile on blade arc, that shit is broken.

So I respecced into kraken. Holy crap… Insane dmg boost. 200% bonus to physical. Was struggling to stay alive but added points to Veil of Shadow. Seems like it helped.

Should I keep dumping into cunning with this and minimal to physique and spirit or would I be better off with actually putting some points into physique as well? I already have a few points added in spirit for some gear requirements.

Minimal to spirit. Rest you can distribute to physique and cunning, put more to physique something like 2:1 in favor of physique or even more would be the best imo.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am a bit to far in to go that route, so it will be more like 1:1 physique and cunning and a few points in spirit. Hopefully that wont ruin the character completely. Would the same be true for the DW version all cunning that you posted as well? Kinda want to try both builds on this character without having to level another one to 85 just yet considering I am only 66 on this one.

Only for spirit part. In Dw version I wouldn’t go more than 20 pts in physique in any case, that would be optimal imo.
But putting more points in physique or cunning wont make or brake BM build. It can just be more or less optimized and that’s all.
Basically I use cunning/physique ratio to achieve balance between OA/DA/HP so depending on gear pieces used, devotions, skills that balance can be shifted in favor of one of those attributes.

Im currently in process of making from my pov optimal BM DW build attribute points distribution vise. For now it has 5 points in spirit 10 in physique rest is cunning (its lvl 64 now btw). I wont invest much more in physique/spirit as it seams.

Awesome. That is about where I am at with my skill points at 66. I’ll keep putting into cunning then and look for your DW build.

It wont be new build, almost everything is same as with 0 physique, except some gear used and it will be more defensive oriented. Probably I will just post a pic in 0 phys DW thread when finished and state attribute point distribution.

Sorry for the beginner question here, but how many points in skill modifiers do you have on this? I am getting close to lvl 85 and finally getting some of the gear, and I can’t even get close to the skill point allocation that you have. It looks like you got 92 points in the Nightblade tree which leaves me 128 points (I think) for the soldier tree which is way less than what is allocated there currently. Am I looking at it wrong?

Yes you are, you are not counting +skills from gear ie +2 to all soldier skills from markovian armor bonus, +1 to all skills from amulet,…

Gotcha. I’ll figure it out then. It really does add up with the +1 to all skills. I just didn’t want to dump all 50 points into nightblade mastery before making sure since I can’t undo that.

You dont have to go full 50 in NB mastery, this char is leveled for other purposes so have 50 pts in NB mastery. Going 40 to pick up CoS is enough for S&B build.
