So I have been reading a lot of posts about people getting kind of bored in the late game so I have been thinking about things that could possibly keep some excitement going once you have built your colony.
You have spent so much time building your kingdom, now what? Stop playing? Create a new game? But what about everything you built? What can you use your engine that you built to do in the end game?
What if you could appoint a king and nobility? So your civilization falls into exactly what it was trying to get away from in the first place. It is ironic and fun. But then some of your villagers start to build up their own villages outside of your kingdom and now you are on the opposite side of the wheel. Instead of running away from lordship, you have now become the lordship that you once hated and are now using it to keep all of the deserters in line and to collect your taxes. You have city guards who keep the villagers in line.
If this seems pretty extreme, maybe there could be other options or routes taken so that you are not so tyrannical.
What are some thoughts? What would make this idea work or make it better?
