Level Design and Quest Structure

the exact same thing, which is why a random layout does nothing for me. At least static worlds can be an interesting / unique design, random ones never are.

I am sure Crate has one. Random generators just create values that are fed to the engine that specify where something will be. Its not an ultra complex piece of technology.

I am pretty sure they do not, why else have a static map ?

My guess, to please the crowd who want the blues and yellows as fast as possible and don’t mind doing the same thing over and over again to get them. The slot machine players. The craps players will move to something more dynamic after one or two plays.

The Hidden Path was a free questline/content added to the game some months after release. It can be slightly difficult to wander across on “accident” but at the time of its implementation they provided us a clue to get started with it.

You sound like the type that enjoys the puzzle/search aspect so you may enjoy it for what it is.

[Major New Features]
New Content: The Hidden Path. Venture down the elusive route taken by the followers of the Witch Gods and discover the secrets known only to their most loyal servants. Your journey begins near Lower Crossing, but requires some Dynamite.
The Hidden Path includes a wealth of new lore, 5 new bosses, a new dungeon, 3 new Monster Infrequents and 7 new Unique items.

Carefully explore the area underlined to begin on a puzzle-type quest that spans across several game areas.

As for the crazy guy in Burrwitch, his hidden secret area is a different and unrelated place… the secret path to which is not far from him if you can discover it based off what he says.

Ah, i do know where that is. Just didn’t know it had a name. Two free early levels if you are willing to shoot the bugs that spawn near the detonation site for 15 minutes.

lol… don’t think I ever heard of anyone doing that but sounds boring  Gaining levels is a bit faster and enjoyable by progressing with your quests.

Anyway, that is the start of it which will task you with finding other hidden spots throughout the game to complete the quest. I think you need to be at least around early to mid-20’s to do that first area but I usually hit it up around 30-ish, to start.

So worth the trip back, Epic gunslinger jacket dual wield pistols…pew pew pew, freaking awesome.

 Indeed.
