It’s been said one could lv a character up to lv 85 in the crucible if they wanted too, but would be slow to get devotion points, miss inventory bags and get no faction gear…
Another MAJOR issue with trying to do that is no aether crystals. This prevents the ability to craft some items, but more importantly, no respeccing of devotion points. You can spend tribute points to get devotion points…but you have no way to respect them once you do…
Any chance they could get added to the loot tables for the crucible? I know they are typically not found in chests so not sure how difficult it would be to add them to a loot pool… But they aren’t a game breaking lootable item so it shouldn’t be a huge deal. The chest do drop hearts/brains/bloods…scrap and other components…why not Aether Crystals?
Was just playing some more and got an aether crystal in a chest… still…first one i got opening chests 6-8 times…first since hot patch though… Could have just been some bad RNG…
Honestly, the smith there is rather bad, has no crafting abilities at all.
At the very least they should give him dynamite crafting IMO, but I’d rather like if they gave him a unique treatment, where giving him a tribute(s) will make him learn a random recipe, from any possible source (With level restrictions based on the level of the person who gave him the tribute).
Personally I don’t see the big deal, both dynamites and especially aether crystals can be found pretty early in the main campaign, is it such a big deal to start a main campaign, repair the bridge to act 2 and farm aether crystals and dynamites when you need them?
The big deal was the premise that you can level a character to 85 ONLY in the crucible. However you would be missing out an faction items and inventory bags. Both of those can be dealt with, although augments are pretty important. However, removing ones ability to craft or respect devotions would make that hard.
The hotfix said it significantly increased the drop rate of rare items. I’m assuming that means crystals as I’m getting more then I was before the hotfix by that I mean I’m actually getting some now… So it really isn’t an issue any more.
Still leveling to 85 only in the crucible appears to be a tough challenge and I’m now working both the main and crucible for leveling and that seems to work well together. Champaign for exp, faction and crucible for nice green gear (few epics) upgrades…
