So, I finally beat Log on elite with my Warder. I tried doing it legit-- getting all my resists up to 80 and trying to just kite him a little, but that didn’t work.
SO, I decided to just put all my points into Storm Totem and Stormcaller’s Pact and just uber kite him, just running by long enough to drop a totem and then scram.
There has been some discussion on the boards about whether certain strategies are cheating. Is what I did cheating?
Moreso what weird strategies have you pulled to beat Log or some other boss?
Please no one talk about how I can’t play on ultimate if i can’t beat log on elite…
Why would that be considered a cheat?
The only thing I’ve seen people call cheating is straight save hacks, and Salazar where someone takes him to the exit of the room and kill themselves so they can come back and kill him at the door without him being able to retaliate. The fact you have to kill yourself to make that happen is a big part of what would be considered “cheating” or at least a huge exploit and people complaining that you can’t use that “tactic” in hardcore just seems ridiculous.
Btw, apparently doing damage to the tentacles that pop up also damages him, as the tentacles are him.
I do Totems + mass lvl 1 pet block a crapton on vit conjurer
Empowered DEE + portal run away to fight any nemesis

who cares what others think you were playing solo, this game is whatever u want it to be
As long as you’re using what the games gives you it’s not cheating.
For log, it’s a bad idea to stay in one place, with all my chars I’m always moving a lot.
With my druid I let the totems and the devils do most of the job, while I’ll throw a primal strike every now and then.
You’d have cheated if you had used some kind of hack to modify your char (giving better stuff, ultra huge stat…)

Back when I was a teen, I had lots of fun hex editing save games to give myself craploads of money. Was it cheating? Who cares, it was fun! You paid for the game, you enjoy it the way you want.
For the record, the games I’m talking about were single player titles (e.g. you want your nation to build every world wonder in Civilisation? no problem, FFFF ftw).
