Longest Boss Fight you guys have ever had?

That’s incorrect IIRC. Normally Gray attacks with light blue lightning and with the eye she goes sith and attacks with dark red lightning spells instead.

But yeah, that’s mostly a pushover tier boss.

My longest fight in Grim Dawn is wave 133 of the Crucible on challenger. It took me 35 minutes. What’s special you ask? Here it is:

4 hero regenerator bosses.
The Guardian (planting his healing crystals on the ground)
2 spawns of those mountain dweller blood mages, the ones that have super HP regen for a short period.

I just couldn’t dent anything. I had to lure enemies away from each other to slowly kill them one by one. I was using my tanky sword and board soldier/occultist.

It was crazy, enemies were healing about 50% - 75% HP a second. I don’t know if it was intended for a spawn like that to happen but it was testing. Certainly was harder than the rest of the waves!

Don’t remember being like that. Then again, the fight is confusing and i’m always targetting the one with the eye which makes it seems only the one with the eye attacks.

As a kid, I spent several days trying to beat Mad Jack from Donkey Kong 64. King Kut Out also took me forever (and I still suck at it).

DK64 is definitely an RPG…right?

Longest boss battle for me, ever? Yiazmat from FFXII. took me 3 and a half hours to drop down his 50m hp.

also seen someone mention SO2, that one bonus boss you fight from playing the Silver Trumpet? only took me 5 minutes to kill her.

Was just going to post this. It takes atleast an hour if not more depending on your skill and charcters gear

Fastest clear time for the setup the ultimania gives is 55 mins, wonder how it’ll pan out in the PS4 version where we finally get the international content

That sounds exactly like Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts 2, Heartless Angel is a signature move of Sephiroth and I’ve never heard of anything else using it, and I definitely don’t remember it being in FF6. He’d follw it up with Black Materia a near undodgeable move.

Akantor from Monster Hunter. Me and a friend spent about an hour and a half on him. I’m not sure that it counts exactly, since he’s less a “boss” than he is just a general aspect of the gameplay, but yeah. Akantor gets the win for me.

Off the top of my head, I’m going to say Angra Mainyu from Final Fantasy X-2. Took me around 45 mins or so if I remember correctly. You can fight him a few times during certain parts of the game and whittle some of his overall hp down before the actual showdown but I did none of that. Ended up just spamming the Darkness spell with 2 Dark Knights, and healing using the mix ability on the Alchemist.

Off the top of my head, probably Alatreon. Can’t recall how many retries it took but it took 43m out of 50 to down him.

Must have been the fight against Julius in Final Fantasy Adventure. Need to play that game again sometime, now that I think of it…

Kefka from Final Fantasy 6 is actually the first enemy in the series to use it. It was called Fallen One in the SNES version. Definitely not Sephiroth’s signature move.

The notable one was Crawmerax the Invincible from Borderlands, solo, without good loadout and with class other than siren.

Ah, I recognize the Fallen One, because you said it was called Heartless Angel in FF6 I was confused as I don’t remember moves by effects but by names and I associate that Heartless Angel with Sephiroth.

Typhon from TQ on Soulvizier with xmax4 included. Best day of my life, circling almost 3 hours around them, while trying to avoid the machine gun meteor barrage from any direction.
Was playing coop with my buddy, using Templar. He was destracting them, and I was killing them one by one with Colossus.
Lots of fun.

I assume this is a mod?

What does it do? Make the game 100x harder by turning bosses into damage sponges with unnaturally high health pools?

You can read about it here - http://www.moddb.com/mods/soulvizier
Not really 100x harder, but still MUCH harder than the original game. Although, with it also comes a lot of new content.
Xmax4 is the same as… Grimmest, I think? Basically, all mobs multiply by 4. Alone, these mods provide decent enough challenge, but I found it boring still. So, by the powers combined, it became like this.

I sometimes also include The Paths mod together with above ones for even MORE challenge, since it’s masteries choice can be unforgivable and very punishing.

Ruby Weapon from FF7 on PS1… 20 years ago! How much time it took, i don’t know, but were many tries and only one successful. Played without guides/FAQs and on foreign language, had no PC that time (and access to Internet).

yah I came back later and spanked the crap out of her but the first time I played her was retarded. This was also a time when the internetz really wasn’t a thing to look up stuff (18 years ago).
