Looking for a build recomendation

Hello i am newish to the game and loving. I love the pet classes in this game and going through the build conpendium i am not really sure what to try cause i think some are outdated. So thought i’d make a post seeing if anyone has recommendation on a pet class. Type of pet class i was thinking where the pets are the dps and maybe i throw out debuffs buffs and or damage?

I also was wanting to try like a burning dot/fire damage type build and honestly have no idea what classes to pick. seems like demo is one good choice but i am not sure on the other.

Thanks in advance!! <3

Try those 3 threads. Feel free to ask any questions. And welcome to the game and forums

Give this a try http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80181

For Fire/Dot true Purifier with Rune Of Kalastor (get phys > fire conversion) and Transmuted Black water cocktail. Get bat for heal (bind to word of pain). Stand on seal and tank or kite like a headless chicken

I thought you were going to try my pet builds. I take it those didn’t work out for you?

oh i am but i am not sure how to level cause i am getting my butt kicked lol

I’m not a pet specialist. There’s an interesting thread with all the world experts on pets (maya, sigatrev, thepowerofmediocrity, ya_ etc. forgive me if I forgot someone) discussing the new possibilities of FG.

You can’t go wrong with Conjurer (Occultist + Shaman) or Cabalist (Occultist + Necromancer). There will always be powerful pet-builds in these masteries. They provide strong pets and good RR options.

That is just because you are new and don’t know about the game yet. That has nothing to do with what end-game you are gonna aim for.

There are several beginner builds posted here that contains pretty decent leveling up tips.

When you have made one of them, your next char is gonna be easier to make since you have learned a lot about the game.

See if the leveling advice in the thread Malawiglenn linked helps. If not, upload your build to GrimTools and post a link here with info on what is kicking your butt :stuck_out_tongue:

True! i am enjoying it though even if warden is kicking my button with the pet build. I think my biggest issue is leveling and not knowing what skills/gear/ect to get. imagine i am doing my conj wrong

is there a link on how to upload a build to grimtools?

https://www.grimtools.com/calc

On the upper left corner, look for the button that is shaped like an arrow.

You can also watch some let’s plays on Grim Dawn just to get the basic feeling what is important to get and where.

If it is your first playthrough, don’t worry so much since the game has a pretty steep learning curve. Just enjoy the game for what it is and try to learn as much as possible to make your leveling of future chars smoother

The only thing you need to know is, just follow someone else’s build. It’s cookie cutter, in order to be viable you need to do what everyone else did. You can’t do what you want, if you want to be viable all of it. Follow someone else’s build, also put 80% of points in physique. It’s not like poe where you can do what ever you want and have a chance to win, I found that out early on. I keep coming back to see if its fixed no. If you can refund do it, I can’t now.

You forgot to add “fact”

weird I play what I want when I want and have never followed someone else’s build. Every now and then people need to step up and just admit that something might be their fault. This might be one of those times…just saying

For original poster I know nothing of pet builds so can’t help you there

As for burning Builds you can go Purifier, Mage Hunter or Sorcerer. Other combo’s can be used but those 3 combo’s are easiest to make.
