Looking for something tanky while leveling!

Good day all! I’ve been playing on and off since kick starter times and really enjoy this game. I’ve never made it to “end game”, but I would like to. I would like to find something that I can play self found, from start to end, not piano style, and be somewhat tanky. I don’t care for the glass cannon specs as watching my life isn’t fun lol.

Soldier + Oathkeeper or Soldier + Shaman, probably, with sword and shield.

Try this build: [1.1.5.2][HC] Erulan Special Forces - Physical melee mortar commando, SR85, 170 crucible and all celestials cleared, no greens

Sword and board would be just fine for leveling, just seemed to find one I enjoyed yet. I don’t mind DW either, but Dervish was a little squishy for my liking.
