It might be just my bad luck but now I hit level 83 and have a fair amount of legendary items. 15 or so in total, the issue is only 1 of them is for my class. all the other ones are caster, shaman, ect type of armor and weapons. Which is frustrating because of the rarity of legendary items, only for it to me something I can’t really use.
I know what some will say why not play a class you got the gear for? well to be honest I am not into alts, or multiple classes I like to stick to one character and go from there, once in a blue moon yes I do roll and alt but I tend to have way less fun in something I don’t really want to play.
That being said I just wish when you played the gear that dropped has a higher chance of dropping for your class than for other classes. In games like Diablo it worked because you could easily trade with someone else, but as this is for the most part an offline game, I feel I am being punished by playing as such.
I am not asking to change the drop rate of legendary, I am just saying when that glitter of purple bestoys my feet, I just want it to have a good soild chance on something I can use. As of right now the gear is not very fun.
I am using a level 50 legendary 2h mace still. it does the job, but yes would like an upgrade.
Its impossible in this game! Making the drops only for your class will block many possible builds… i’ve 6 level 85 chars, 3 off them uses elemental damage but the gear are from others classes… the other 3 chars are 2 physical damages and 1 chaos damage, and chaos damage you can do with every class basically, so its impossible to restrict the drops…
Just to explain more:
For example a Commando (Soldier + Demolitionist), you can make builds with physical damage only for melee and ranged attacks, can make physical + fire for both types of attacks, can make pure elemental damage with melee or ranged attacks…
A Blademaster for example (nightblade + soldier) you make physical only, physical + pierce, pierce + cold or just cold damage for melee and ranged attacks in all those kinds of damage… and depending in the relic that you’re using you can use this same build and gear for a trickster or spellbreaker!
So its impossible and will ruin the game if they do what you want! You need to play more and try to trade items… i took almost 3 months to finish the gear of my blademaster, even creating trading games and posting in this forum and steam forum nobody had the Reforged Chains of Oleron blueprint or item! Now the community growth a lot so i think is much more easier to finish your gear…
I seem to recall reading that enemies drop what they are actually carrying, and I can voucher that, at least in veteran, it is true.
Now, I don’t know what class you are playing, but it would behoove you to kill as many enemies that are the same class/archetype as you.
So, for example, if you are a gunslinger, farm Crowley’s gang, most of them are using guns. If you are a caster, you can’t go wrong farming Fort Ikon. Now, I suspect it is different if you are targeting bosses for certain drops, but at least if you are looking for drops from white mobs, you have to kill ones that are like your class.
