Maces that could (should?) be scepters

To continue the project that began with spectral bludgeon, the following maces could (should?) be scepters:

Purple:
Plaguebearer of dreeg
Herald of blazing ends

Pets -
cryptstalker
(Plaguebearer of dreeg)

Blue:
Sacred Hammer of Eternal Wrath
Kalastorian Gavel
Blessed Torch
Malmouth Mace

Pets -
Mythical Deadbeater (ok the name suggests mace though)
Black Hand of Sanar’Siin
Wendigo Mace

MI:

Pets -
Warden’s Judgment

Disclaimer: I don’t actually know if the classification of the pet items matters, or if one category is better than another.

The argument will be the same as it was with spectral bludgeon: The line between maces and scepters are too blurred. None of these maces (correct me if I’m wrong) support non-caster activities and most explicitly have %cast speed on them with no %attack speed.

They all suffer the following burdens:

  1. Their base damage is physical instead of the magical damage type they support.
  2. Their %damage is in line with the mace design paradigm instead of the scepter paradigm, implicitly nerfing these weapons which are purposed for non %weapon damage scaling abilities.
  3. Incompatible with the caster-scepter devotion Oklaine’s lantern. Instead these (mostly non physical) caster weapons are forced into the category of weapons represented by Rhowan’s scepter (xd name–blurred lines and all that) which mainly scales physical (IT).

Zantai let these maces be the scepters they always wanted to be. Let them be free!

Don’t think it matters for pet builds, as scepters roll higher %damage, but pets have their own damage type.

For others, there recently were a couple of caster ranged weapon changes similar to this idea.

sceptre can still kinda matter for pets a little, as it means caster class +skill prefix becomes available on MI (heretic/seer etc)

Yes maces can’t even roll pet affixes like subjugators or wanderers, this is particularly egregious on things like wardens judgment.

I actually have a WIP build that use warden’s judgement as a mace, i also released one on the forum a long time ago:

it is surely outdated:
skele dual wield

This build looks like it would be helped by the switch since it struggles getting phys->aether conversion, and as a mace, warden’s judgment has base physical. Switching the mace to a scepter would yield (slightly) higher base aether damage values.

Presumably the weapons which have global phys->x conversion would keep this conversion (why remove it?).
