Making a pirate!

First off I’d like to say thanks to the people who offered me help with the Cold/Chaos thread. I kind of expected to get laughed out of the forum in all honesty. I actually recently changed that idea to a poison/chaos WitchBlade, and it seems to be working fairly well!

It might be evident, but I have a thing for themed builds and I love pirates and recently thought of trying to do a swashbuckler-esque character. But I am again fairly new to this game and am a bit lost at what would work.

I was thinking of him using 1-handed sword and shield (so clearly a melee class) to make a fairly tanking char thats deals mainly pierce/bleeding and -maybe- a bit of cold damage, so i’ve now come here asking for some ideas/nudges in the right direction.

Again doesn’t really need to be super awesome clear super fast, just fairly viable.

Thanks in advance!

Hm… I would say soldier/demolitionist would be the most ‘pirate-like.’ I feel like pirates would throw lots of blackwater cocktails and what-not.

For pierce/bleeding/cold, nightblade would fit the best. But if you’re not going to be duel-wielding, I don’t think nightblade would be very powerful (though i could be totally wrong.)

I’m kind of a noob, but those are my thoughts.

I like this idea

Well, personally when i think of pirates, i don’t really see them using a shield. I would rather go duel wield (nightblade) but on the other hand i also think of skulls, so maybe instead of DW you could use a fast sword and one of those skull looking off hands. I also think of cannon’s (Demo).

Finding viable gear while still keeping that pirate look, may be a little difficult. Luckily we have this fashion wise http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35886

Make sure to chug alot of pots and pretend its rum :stuck_out_tongue:
