Maximum over skill allowed

Hi guys

I’m sure I’ve read somewhere on the forum the maximum allowable overskill possible, but cant find it anywhere.

For instance Fire strike is 12/12 and with item or skill bonuses this can go higher.
Currently I have 16/12.

So with this in mind, what is the maximum a “skill” can be overskilled with, and is it different for passive skills and active skills.

The mechanic you are referring to is called “Ultimate levels”. The maximum number of ultimate levels is 10 over the base cap.

You can have 10 more points over the cap, note that let’s say the skill has 12 ranks and you have items that give +14 to that skill then it means you can get 22/12 by only using 8 skillpoints. Using 12/12 and then having the same +14 would still only give 22/12

Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for.
I assume then that it is the same for passive and active skills, a max of 10 Ultimate lvls
