MB its time to separate weapon dmg and flat dmg from gear/skills/devotions?

All these extra multipliers tend to get out of hand very fast. Just looks at gamebreakers, oh, sorry, spellbreakers. 10 flat cold here, 12 flat cold there, some frostburn from devotion and a little more frostburn from skills and voila - 250k dmg per SS and another 250k frostburn per second just cause why not?
Its not like SS is Opieopie, the skill looks fine, unless you feed it with maxed lethal assault, add like 150 flat cold dmg from gear and 500 flat frostburn from other source . Then multiply all that not so big dmg by 410% and you get what we see in the game .
I suggest to applie %weapon dmg only to weapons itself. Not other equipment flat modifiers, not extra flat dmg from skills or devotions. That would aslo help to close the gap betven spells and atacks. And it would aslo help contain sustain scaling from ADcTH.

Do that and a whole host of non-broken builds using %weapon damage abilities become utter shit and build diversity within those same archetypes goes down the drain. A rebalancing effort to get rid of those issues would just break something else.

In recent patches casters have made great strides towards catching up to weapon builds (one could say it’s easy to outpace someone when the nerfhammer broke both their knees but I digress…) and unless there’s a ton more “supah seekrit” builds I’m not aware of, Coldbreakers are really the only power outliers of this patch using weapons.

This is a single player game, instead of complaining about what’s OP we should really focus on what needs help. There’s enough things that are intended to be part of the game that don’t work well or at all to keep the devs busy with our bitching.

Yeah, let’s make the builds who rely on gathering flat damage from every available source into complete trash.

You do know there’s several builds that rely on flat damage just to be good. Not great, just good. Yeah, i hope this suggestion never happens.

This even more a terrible suggestion because some of the top tier builds right now have no weapon dmage or just very low weapon damage. Stuff like BWC Sorcerer, Stun Jacks Elementalist and DEE Witchblade.

Maybe we can just lower the multiplier in Shadow Strike and problem solved?

Pretty sure that’s what’s coming, even though some people may disagree that it was the biggest contributor to SS builds being broken. Alkamos rings and multiple buffs to flat damage in masteries coupled with dual wield have had their effect.

If you look at 2h SS builds using Soulrend, they’re strong but not overwhelmingly so. And they don’t get to use AQC/Execution to pad their DPS.

Ive tried to delevel SS on my spellbreaker - its still OPie as hell even at 16/16. Onscreen number halved, but i still deliver more that 100k per crit and extra 150k DoT .
