Not sure if its me but the Devotion tree doesn’t show on either of the Grim Calc posted. Both show you have 50 points to spend but everything is empty.
Just thought I’d let you know as it’s a guild. Nice to get back to basics and play a sword and shield class. Everything seems to revolve around 2h these days or something involving Sorceress. Gets boring after a while. Thxs for the guild.
First of all, i want to thank you Chthon for this build guide.
This build is very dynamic and fun to play, well balanced between tankiness and damage dealing.
Nevertheless, i encounter so much difficulties in finding good leggit stonehide exalted treads and Dreeg-Sect Legguards that i’ve tried to make different choice of equipment.
Today i’m proposing you a little different gear and skill point allocation (not necessarily better, but with other advantages).
– Overall look :
Changes :
Leg : Demonbone Legplates
Very good chaos proc, even against range mobs.
Foot : Boneshatter Treads
Good Armor Debuff.
Shield : Vanguard of the Legion
Warborn set is a pain in terms of resist, it gives me the opportunity to max aether and chaos resists. I lost the physic to aether damage conversion and the CB of the Will of the living, but +1 in all soldier’s skills, a very good amount of health and DA.
Relic : Solael’s Decimation
a strong gain of OA, and the granted skill is just awesome in this build. +1 in all occultist’s skills …
And then, allocation point is a bit different. This is what it gives for the soldier’s tree :
Though, “aspect of the guardian” in the occultist tree to max poison/acid resist must be put at 6.
Blitz used with deadly momentum is very usefull
Just one change in the devotion : i’ve prefered the last point of the Dying god
and remove the last of the spear of heavens. Little gain of damage.
So what is the result : with deadly momentum and mindwarp proc + blood of Dreeg :
With deadly momentum, mindwarp proc, Fighting spirit + blood of Dreeg :
Not so bad
This character is a strong farmer of the end game in the main campain, and he can facetank without too much difficulties nemeses, bosses. I haven’t already tried to kill MQ, or Bourbon’s clone. But at the moment no difficulty with the other, this WB has strong damages and good tanking abilities.
Finally, it is also viable to farm crucible till Challenger … Haven’t tried in Gladiator at the moment.
One more time, thank you Chthon for this guide … i was trying to grow a mindwarp Battlemage, but it was so boring. This build is just good
You’re welcome, and this character is very fun to play
I have improved my toon yersterday with a Siegebreaker shield, a little lost of DA, but another gain in damage and OA. With Chain of Oleron on the chest, OA is at 3100 under Fighting spirit now.
not only fun but it also looks classy and fits the bill to be rightfully called a witchblade:cool:
based on my own personal testings this build destroys nemesis including iron maiden with zero to very little issues… granted u have the gear required… not record breaking like some breakers out there:rolleyes:
madqueen requires some kiting though but only very minimal… I am using Lord Chthon’s setup but with Oleron attached to suit… Best scenario with all procs on could shoot your DPS to 74k … OA 3100ish… again… not record breaking but impressive nonetheless…
Havent tested glad but I will very soon… I rate this build a solid 4/5… Survivability and Damage output is well balanced. Highly recommended!
may I ask about this old build? I would like try chaos cadence WB but cant find some good build. I have now 2-h chaos blade arc WB with Obsidian Juggernaut but its not good against single targets like Nemesis or many bosses.
Shield is Siegebreaker, Rings (1 is Entropic Coil, the other is MI), Main Hand - Master’s Spellblade or Fang of Chthon, Belt is same and Relic is Oleron. Devotion is basic chaos based setup no biggie.
That’s the basic
Blade Arc sucks vs single target, Obsidian Juggernaut for 2h melee suits Cadence more than BA.
Quick question, how would one go about converting this into a DW build?
It’ll surely be unoptimal, but it seems fun and as I recently found a Mindwarp, figured I’d check it out.
I’ve tried DW aether with several characters except WB xD but after this build i rerolled my WB to try this out and again also tried DW after shield setup.
Without Shield it is no where near as tanky but you can use pretty much the same setup and gear. Either Blademaster’s Talisman or Direwolf Crest but i’d rather use Relic for it.
For weapons you can use whatever you have. Can craft a lot of Master’s Spellblade if you have resources and with luck you can get a decent one. Or farm the shit out of Thalonis and Warden (or Crucible) for their MI weapons which both fit for this setup especially if you can drop useful prefix/suffix etc etc.
