Melee Conjurer Build help

I had played a first dual-wield FS/SS saboteur to LV40 in normal veteran, but found she is quite squeeshy.

Thus I want to try a 2H Savagery/Chaos Strike conjurer, a tankier and more AOE damage melee style warrior, and I admit I like Chaos Strike…

Following is the plan what I imagine to put skill point, I did try to search this kind of playing style but without a clear template and still need advice.

Class/Main Skill

Shaman
Passive 2H
Savagery
Wendigo Totem
Primal Bond
Mogdrogen’s Pact

Occulist
Sigil of Consumption
Solael’s Witchfire
Curse of Frailty
Blood of Dregg

Constellation
Reckless Tempest -> Savagery
Dryad’s Blessing -> Blood of Dregg
Giant’s Blood -> Mogdrogen’s Pact
Eldritch Fire -> Sigil of Consumption
Maul -> Chaos Strike
Wendigo’s Mark --> Wendigo Totem

Grim calc code is e3c1LG

I can’t tell if this build need to focus on physical damage because there are 15% will be transform to chaos ?

And since the only skill offer lighting damage is savagery, should I choose Reckless Tempest to binding?

Any advise is welcome, thank you for your time.

Build is all over the place. SWF is chaos damage. Wendigo is vitality (and I would drop this…you don’t need it and Sigil). Sigil is vitality with potential for fire and chaos, but you don’t mention that. Reckless tempest is lightning. Savagery has bleed.

Figure out what you want your top damage types to be and focus on those, including debuffing enemy resists to those types if possible. For instance, vulnerability could debuff enemy resist to vitality and fire (or lightning).

If bleed isn’t a focus, why use savagery? And if going 2h and want to do aoe and lightning, why not Primal Strike instead? Lightning and chaos would be a cool combo if you could find a way to make it work, but finding gear to support such a build may be a real challenge (not sure).

One approach could be to use both Devouring Swarm and Bloody pox, focusing on the vitality or bleed components respectively. If you focus on the bleed damage, Savagery makes sense to synergize. If you focus on the vitality side, totem all the way. You’ll be strapped for points to beef up defenses or single target, but you’ll gain more AoE I think.

Melee conjurer better go with vitality damage. Wildblood Crusher set seems to be for this theme.

I use this build grimcalc.com/build/PUGw9E with Abyssal Mask for Bloody Pox and the Guillotine as weapon
