I can’t get much farther than 400. Then my computer begins to crawl in the game. I have to shut down and then come back to it.
Any suggestions?? Perhaps this is a bug. Are they going to build some routine to unload the computer memory without having to log out and back in?
at 500 peeps the game uses 10 gigs so if you have 8 gigs or less PC you are gonna be in a world of hurt
UPDATE: medium map. Small map saves about a gig (maybe more)
I am about 780 pop on my latest game, the odd lag but quite playable. I use the small map, which is still huge and I have foliage turned off which I think improves the ‘look’ anyway.

small map does save a bit of ram. And they load much faster also.
SSD helps a lot also if you only have 8gigs since you will be paging
like crazy. (nothing beats real ram though)
Yeah I have foliage off also and I also think it looks better.
