Meta discussion - What's the build you have had the most fun with?

Looking for some ideas for fun and engaging builds and I just wanted to ask you guys a question?

What build have you played in SR or CR that was the most fun? Not the most powerful, not the furthest reaching, but a build that was just an absolute blast? I am playing a chain lighting based Mage-Hunter using Temporal Arcblade and I am having a great time Zapping everything in Cairn.

My first skill I fell in love in GD was Shadow Strike, so I like zapping around hitting enemies in a flash.

My other favorite build is Phantasmal Blades Reaper with Demonslayer set. Cool looking skill, aesthetically pleasing gear and also quite powerful.

Really cool looking build, I admit I have never tried PB even though I leveled an infiltrator. I also didn’t realize you could use it with a ranged weapon. I might try this out!

#1 fun build, my absolute fav in Forgotten Gods: Iskandra sorceress, extremely pleasing to play, super glass cannon, requires decent piloting. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/eZPqBmKN

#1 crucible build: AAR spellbinder, with this one I got my best times in 150-170. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/YVWgDW7V

#1 hypster build: Wind Devil / Storm Totem / Doom Bolt conjurer. Does extremely well in crucible / SR, and it’s not exactly super meta. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/d2j5yy4N

#1 fantasy build: 100% WPS melee cold reaper. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/dVbyDez2

#1 smashing build: elemental cadence witchblade, 1.4 million cadence crits in shattered realm are super funny. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/DV9R99PZ

Avenger Warder. Idk why, something about being a high hp pool beast I guess.

Imo there is nothing more engaging than low cooldown SS build. I had fun with any such build with high single target potential.

And yeah, high single target dmg is mandatory for me to have fun  Rahzin Witch Hunter for DW melee and Avenger Archon for 2H melee are very enjoyable for me.

My personal top 3:

  1. Iskandra Sorc
  2. Infernal Shieldbreaker
  3. Trozan Druid

It’s kind a specifique gameplay, I should say

Forgot air quotes. You literally engage an enemy at lightning speed every 1-2 secs.

Most fun is my Avenger Warder. No matter how many build I try I always come back to my pure, get in your face, smash em up tank. Just satisfying.

Honestly any cooldown-based caster build I have a ton of fun with. Canister bomb, devastation, or doom bolt builds are probably my favorite.

Toss up from the Shaman (Druid Combo) or Occultist (Witchblade Combo). The Shaman lightning is really a blast, literally. Talk about mass mob blasting. The chaos damage from the Occultist is fun to go toe to toe with. I am using a 2 handed weapon with each class combo too.

I tried the Crucible once with a Fire Damage Rifle Commando, was okay. I tried the Shattered Realm once with my Witchblade. That was more fun, but I didn’t like the time decay for progressing further. Makes it more of a “I need +Movement Speed up the wazoo or I won’t make it” vs. “Damn I need more deeps, I’ll be back when I am more beastly”

Although he is not the most powerful, or even remotely stable, and although hes by extension currently relatively useless in SR and Crucible, the build I still have the most fun playing and working on completing is good old Harry the Has-Been.

This guy has so much FEELING to him! Using some of the jankiest gear in the game causes truly heart-pounding battles in the MC, which I have yet to complete Elite with him by the way lol. But something about this guy is just super super fun. Hes fast, agile, he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, his design functions and is dependent upon health fluctuation to proc several effects, and he just feels real. The flavor behind him in my imagination is really what does it. His story is that of an old battle hardened veteran with severe PTSD, so he drinks Burrwitch Brew constantly to drown out the horrors of his past. His old bones often cramp up (Anguish proc), and he has a bad heart (health drain from Hungering Void and Sacrifice), and moving around so fast while drunk often causes him to throw up (granted skill from the Cauldron of Excitement).

Despite all this, he does still retain some of his combat prowess, deftly dodging many attacks when hes not staggering or cripples by aches and pains, and he even uses his Burrwitch Brew mixology skills to create Blackwater Cocktails on the fly. All in all, very action packed build and not OP by ANY means, a real thrill ride!
