[MOD] Grim Dawn Lazy Parallel Universe | QoL hard-mod for 1.1.9.3

1.1.9.3 version

Current changes:

  • Wind Devils are permanent last for over a day (real time)
(cannot make them permanent now in 1.1.9.3 as Mythical Codex of Eternal Storms would not work properly with it)

  • Blood of Dreeg,
    Pneumatic Burst,
Word of Renewal last for over a day (real time)

  • Blade Arc, Blitz have no knockback

  • Skeletons behavior is aggressive

Installation:

  • download database.zip (12.3 KB)

  • unpack to retrieve database.arz

  • put the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\mods

  • make a shortcut to Grim Dawn .exe youā€™re using, this can be:

    • 64 bit Grim Dawn from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\x64\Grim Dawn.exe

    • Grim Internals from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\GrimInternals64.exe

    • 32 bit Grim Dawn from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\Grim Dawn.exe

  • add /basemods (preceded with one space) as argument to the shortcut:
    lazy_launch

  • you can optionally rename this shortcut so that you known it launches lazy Grim Dawn

  • launch the game from the shortcut

1.1.9.1 version

Current changes:

  • Blade Arc, Blitz have no knockback

  • Blood of Dreeg,
    Pneumatic Burst,
Word of Renewal last for over a day

  • Skeletons behavior is aggressive

  • Wind Devils are permanent

Changes that can be quickly included on request:

  • Mutators no longer in Crucible

  • Aegis is spammable

    • when you wear appropriate medal for example

Changes to research on 1.1.9.2 update:

  • Arcane Bomb arm-time

Installation:

  • unpack the Archive
  • copy Grim Dawn folder where your main Grim Dawn folder is, for example
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
  • merging of the folders will begin, overwrite files when prompted
  • unless you make a back-up of the files that are changed, youā€™ll need either
    • reinstall
    • or Steam file verification to revert this
      • probably best to first remove overwritten files
and then choose file verification in Steam

if youā€™re planning to add more options to the mod, some way to choose what options to use and what to ignore would be really helpful.

Update:

  • Blood of Dreeg,
    Pneumatic Burst,
Word of Renewal last for over a day

Iā€™d have to write some script in pain that allowed to choose which part of mods to build. I donā€™t want to commit to that at the moment but I can always upload you the source files (mod folders with all custom mini soft mods created by Asset Manager the OP mod consists of ) so that you can make i.e. your own custom soft-mod out of it. Should be easy (maybe copying all the mods into one folder and reading it in Asset Manager and then building it or something like that) but I havenā€™t done it yet so you would be on your own / need ask someone else if case of troubles.

if there are too many features/tweaks in tqā€™s full version, tqFan did a very helpful step by step guide for me to make the simple/few changes one desired

highly useful if all you wish is a couple of minor changes instead of the full monty

PS if the modding aspect seems daunting i can attest to that if you follow the various guides step by step (all mentioned in that thread too/ex tq linkā€™s to Elfeā€™s AssetManager setup guide) then it takes like almost not time, even from a complete luddite standpoint :+1:

GD has such thing as knockdown? Would be useful instead of knock back.

Iā€™m not sure actually

Btw donā€™t want to make a new thread for a small modification:

Aegis Spam Fun Allowed

To check it out

Hi ā€¦ how did you manage to have riftgates in rogue dugeons. Which dbr files did you edit?
Thanks.

I did it for Crucible for a test. Quite easy to do.
The hardest part was finding the correct command for packing .arc :man_facepalming:

Any chance for an update to this? Tried to figure it out myself and was able to tweak skill durations but canā€™t figure out how you made the skeletons aggressive.

Sure, this time Iā€™ll make it in a different way that will be more resistant to updates.
Would you like some other changes besides aggressive skeletons?
(I am going to add changes lazily, on request)

Updated. Now itā€™s just a 10kB download and should still work after the game is updated.
Might need an update from me only if :crate: modifies (in a meaningful way) the specific files that are changed by the mod.

Excellent as always @tqFan - thanks for updating!

Any chance for the knockback removal from Blade Arc and Blitz? :crossed_fingers:

That was quick, thanks so much!

How hard would it be to change Bloody pox to no longer require a target, like Ill Omen ?

Top of my head:
I remember to have seen some checkbox like ā€œtarget spellā€ or similar.
So potentially very easy.

Iā€™m not so sure, Iā€™d rather expect template change but i may be wrong.
Sometimes changing single fields like that didnā€™t do anything, not meaning this particular one though.

They use the same exact template. Just compare the two to find the difference, pretty sure itā€™s the ā€˜target radiusā€™.
