Apparently my luck with modding Grim Dawn continues. I had first been unable to run the Mod Merger and tt300 was kind enough to merge the two I wanted to use. I finally got the merger working, and wanted to update one of the two mods as it added a feature. I verified that the mods work seperately, but when I merged them, they don’t work. Anyone have any idea where I could be going wrong?
Probably when you merged the mods? ![]()
You need to provide more detail if you want help.
Like what mods are you trying to merge.
What have you done.
Etc….
What went wrong, only you know man, you’re the one who used the tool. IMO If you are using a tool to merge mods - don’t.
You described being able to update one of the mods for something, if you are capable of doing that, you are capable of merging by hand as well. There is no tool that can perfectly merge two mods, especially if the two mods have conflicts. Create a new mod folder, throw all the extracted/updated contents of both mods into the new mod folder. If there are any conflicts, compare these carefully, then recompile the new mod.
What I meant was the mod was updated by the author and I wanted to change the merged mod to the new version.
And I know my first post wasn’t all that useful, but it was late and I was half-asleep. ![]()
It’s two mods that shouldn’t conflict at all, one is Front Loaded, which makes you level faster through the low levels but slower higher up so you end up needing the same XP to get to 100, and Treasure Highlighter, which puts a marker on breakable/lootable objects… I’m getting older, don’t see the little things as well anymore. The version tt300 merged for me works fine, but the mod author updated Treasure Highlighter to include breakable doors, fences, etc, so I just wanted to put that version with FrontLoaded.
I removed the merged mod, started the mod tool and made sure it’s pointing to my game directory, checked the boxes on the two mods and told it to merge. It created the merged mod in the mods directory but when I select it as my custom map and go ingame nothing is highlighted. When I try just using the new Treasure Highlighter breakables, lootables and breakable doors and walls are highlighted.
Try this.
TreasureHighlighter+FrontLoaded.zip (66.9 KB)
Thanks again.
I do wish I knew why it didn’t work for me so I don’t need to bother people to get things combined.
I’m also having problems merging mods. the Mod merger doesn’t work - it instantly crashes when it tries to merge - and most of the mod authors seem to have left the community since their mods haven’t been updated in years (with the exception of the werewolf buff mod)
the mods I’m trying to merge:
Moarpoints (dead for a year)
NoDoors and easy SR timer (dead for a year)
Werewolf buff
If someone could help I’d greatly appreciate it, the official modding guide is supremely unhelpful.
