I have looked at all the mods, 99% of them are terrible the only ones that are worth it is ceno’s and grimmy grimmest, more ceno’s then grimmy, grimmest because there is a bug with it. That I spoke with the creator of grimmy grimmiest and have not heard if its fixed yet, I am still waiting for a mod. That increases tabs for stash and columns at the same time. Mod that doesnt change skills like they are stupid, and mod that has new dungeons, areas. and not more devotion points, that makes character op. also a mod that increases skill points to 2 at the same time, one big mod or two seperate mods that go well together which I said here. The only two mods that come close to this is the two I mentioned here, the rest are terrible.
You spoke with me when? What bug are you referring to specifically in Grimmest?
Given that I actually understand the amount of work put into a mod, I am not going to be particularly pleasant when replying to posts such as you make above. Even people that do not understand the work involved are going to see this as trollish. I should just close this thread now…but am sort of looking forward to the backlash you are about to receive for this.
If you see the error in your ways here and reconsider, just post telling me to delete the thread, that I would be more than happy to do for you.
I wanted to check and try modding. I know it’s not easy, but the tools are there and are very welcoming for beginners to get into and give it a whirl. Still, seeing posts like that makes me regret thinking about even trying, because I know how much testing and failing it would take to do even simple one…let alone new areas. It’s like making music and someone that doesn’t know squat about the process and time involved, tells you it sucks because it isn’t what he/she hoped for. Do it yourself.

I don’t know whether to be flattered or offended. Well regardless v.02 will be out within a week at this rate. Anyway man, people can enjoy whatever mod they want. I’m expecting great things out of Asylum, personally.
Well modding is still in it’s early stages and everyone has their own process as to what they want to mod and what stages they take to further their mod.
Depending on what you want to achieve with modding will result in how much time you actually need to spend in order to fulfill your objectives. Plus we have modders who’ve had experience before GD or pre-planned their mods during GD’s development.
What I’m working on I already know will take a ton of time depending on how far I want to take the mod which is one reason why I’m not sharing it at the moment until it’s a tad bit more developed + I’m more in the mindset of experimenting and having fun. In any case here is a list of a few things I have to do:
Level design - about 7 areas planned for at the moment and these areas are going to be rather expansive. This will probably take the longest I would think.
Music - will have to add music/sound effects to ambient music and enemy sound effects
Enemies - both normal/bosses will have to be edited and adjusted based on what has to be balanced
NPCs/Quests - have barely touched npcs and still need to check out the quest system though with quests I won’t have much to do (but still have to do it), also includes having to add a lot of dialogue + sound as well
Might touch on Mastery’s/Itemization if I get to it but right now I’m most interested in the level design side while fiddling around with other distractions as I go. Probably a bunch of other things I haven’t thought about while replying so there’s that as well.
In any case it’s always amusing to read people’s opinions thinking that things should take a lot less time. Asking for “simple” changes or fixes when “simple” isn’t always correctly represented.
edit: Though I’m hoping for more tutorials to be added eventually which will speed things a bit faster for everyone I’m sure.
I’m surprised by how well everyone has taken this post… I’m with jiaco that this came off as very rude, and honestly i looked at the post history of this guy and he has these manners in every thread he makes.
Gdante, no one is obliged to make things like you want, especially when you ask for them as if everything is owed to you; you are very unpolite in giving “feedback” (if we can call this feedback), and honestly, seeing your post history and your attitude in this forum, if i were a moderator, you will be already banned.
It’s an attitude that’s not good for the community imho. I’m mostly a lurker here but registered because i felt this was to be said.
And mindray, don’t be discouraged by people like this. I’m sure lot of people will appreciate what you will create!
Well in the space of replying and now, I currently have 3 enemies (added 2) that are initially ready for my mod. Fallen, Fallen Shaman, Fallen Assassin - one or two more variants still to come. Getting a bit faster in switching enemies over although I am quite sure I’ll need to fine tune them later on while adding sound effects.
Rather amusing seeing a once 2h Ranged Groble running around like one of Cronley’s Murderer’s dual wielding melee weapons. Will have to figure out how to make them more stealthy later.
The answer to your problem is simple: Why not try it yourself and complain afterwards?
Some of the things you request aren’t even possible with the given toolset and would require a lot of work outside the tools, making the whole even harder than it already is, not to speak of anyone here being responsible to fulfill your idea of a “good” mod or to share this idea.
I’m not asking you to have no opinion about stuff but you might want to either keep it to yourself or give reasons why you think things are bad and provide constructive critism including a more civilized way in saying that you dislike something than saying “99% of all mods are terrible”.
“I think this free shit I don’t pay anyone to make is not good enough.”
I have observed a long time but i’m quite sure that gdante is very much buggy. 99% of his post are terrible and even the good one have not been fixed yet, and I’m still waiting for that fix. The increase tabs for consideration and columns of understanding at the same time. fix that change the stupid reason he come with, or post that come with pure complaint… well i can’t keep up with with dumb sentence after that. it’s just terrible.
To sum it up, he is not the kind of person you can reason with. Its is horribly buggy.
Ahh it’s horrible!!
I have looked at all the mods, 99% of them are terrible the only ones that are worth it is ceno’s and grimmy grimmest, more ceno’s then grimmy, grimmest because there is a bug with it. ps: Sory jiaco. just messing with your works here :p. Feel free to do what you want to do.
Eagerly awaiting the GDante Amazing Mod Pack.
