To simply put it what would you guys say is the most rewarding hero to play if you are using it optimally? I have an rts background so right-clicking seems a bit dull for me, are there anything that requires to use ALOT off skills and HOW well you do it depends on how good that will perform?
I just feel alot off builds requires you to ‘‘grind’’ then everything dies after a certain point. Would you say there is something out there that is ‘‘mostly’’ player dependent then gear. I have heard that summoners dont need good gear until late but at the same time they seem like most off the work is done by the pet anyway so not much needed from the player.
Okay… I am not really sure what you mean by those words, could you explain a little deeper what they are about. Basicly you give explanations like gladiator but for me it does not mean anything :D. I assume it’s a a soldier build off some sort?
And who off those would you assume are the most fun to play?
By Gladiator he means the last difficulty in The Crucible DLC mode. It’s a survival mode where you fight waves of enemies in an arena.
He talks about the Chaos Albretch Aether Ray build with the new Black Flame Covenant legendary set. Seems to be a strong build but requires some skill to use it.
Fabius is a Nemesis boss and Mad Queen is another strong boss.
Okay, so if I want to play something that will reward if I do it well I should go for a warlock build using that set off items you guys pointed out? I dont know why put up bosses there as they are not possibel heroes to play
Something like this :)) ^. OP asked for a hard class to play where the end-game depends more on skill than gear. In this particular case it depends on both in equal measure actually.
AAR has enormous damage potential as it can easily reach 40-50k/tick in the late game (with procs it will be over 60k/tick). By comparison, a CT Sorc build will reach a maximum of 60k-80k dps with BiS gear (not counting Devastation). Still, CT is as “noob friendly” as you can get since it has a WD component, so it is almost a 100% gear-dependent build. In contrast, to facetank with AAR you need timing…therefore, the attention and skill the OP said is looking for in order to feel a challenge.
Another possibility is PB Spellbreaker which is less gear dependent than AAR but I don’t believe you can pull 15 sec Fabius with it. Also, OP could try a poison cycle build - i.e. a “piano” build where you stack obscene DoTs by hitting keys in rapid succession.
That piano thingy seems interesting, as spamming keys is something I am used to when play RTS. The main thing I was looking for is something that can reward me by being good but It would not require the most optimal gear to perform at a very good/perfect level.
Sure I might aim for the best gear possibel but I am just starting out to play and since my 1st char is a gunslinger demo/occultist that is well… ‘‘right’’ clicking alot I would like some more that fits my playstyle as my next character.
And this PB spellbreaker is that something is bad you mean or just hard aswell?
I’m really enjoying my Thermite Mine/Blackwater Cocktail Pyromancer (Mostly Chaos+fire), requires much number key action.
Tactics:
Throw out mines to debuff and damage
Throw BWCs into the mix to start burn and further debuff
Throw flashbang as group closes in
Hit in face hard (Currently with Scythe of Tenebris – love that weapon’s style!)
All the while Devotions kick off to add to the fireworks
Reposition mines as needed
Throw more cocktails and hit face more
Bathe in flames
I play hardcore so survivability is needed, hence blast shield, defensive devotions. I had 1h plus off-hand which also allowed Demon’s Breath skill, but switched to the Scythe because damange+looks.
Seems Ultimate viable so far (I’m lvl 68, almost at Ultimate Burrwitch).
There is no difficult build to play, since the success of a build is determined by how simple it will make your character’s life.
If you want to push many buttons, you can try a vitality conjurer: pick conjurer as a class, and pick every skill where ‘Vitality’ is written. It’s fun and very gear independant. It’s not hard though.
It’s a bit of the same for every dot focused character: many buttons to push. But to call them difficult is a stretch…
Grenadier is another fun one (very demolitionist focused), but again, it’s not hard. 95% of the screen is permanently controlled !
I think a ‘rotation’ style build (like the DEE Witch Hunter bomber builds, you have a bunch of skills to hit but it’s usually all in a sequence that pretty much stays the same) is one thing but a ‘piano’ build (where you have 6 or 8 skills and there’s no rotation or sequence, what you hit next depends on what’s happening in the game) is a horse of entirely different color.
Both are more involved than a basic hold-LMB melee build, but the rotation build is a bit more laid back than the piano one, involving more positioning and setup and then a quick burst of keyboard activity before dropping back into setup, whereas a true piano build would be very intensive since you’re constantly reacting to the changing battle.
