How does multiplayer interact with special monster drops exactly?
Would joining a multiplayer game and farming with friends help the drop rate of items like Alkamos’s rings at all?
We’ve noticed that things like aether crystal clusters, which have a 100% drop rate for some kind of aether crystal item, will only give an item to one of the players in an MP session. This has me wondering if being in a multiplayer affects the chances of monster specific loot at all. As an example, one of my pals is making a cold reaper, and wants alkamos’s rings. If another player and I also join the game and kill Alkamos, are we looking at a ~1% chance for the ring to drop period, and it will be assigned to one player, or a 1% per player rate? I would naturally think the later, but based on how aether crystals behave it seems like it might be the former.
