Altar of Sacrifice.
On the main screen sits an option called Altar of Sacrifice. Once you complete the game you can sacrifice your character for a pool of stat boosts that can be designated to any other characters you have. Everytime you sacrifice a character it would also universally raise all creature lvls by +1 essentially leveling up the game. An example is a character who completed the game on normal gets sacrificed for +1 attribute, +1 talent, +1 devotion, 2% maximum run speed and +2% magic item find. Elite would recieve +2 etc.
New item slot wings/game completion item ( Im editing this and suggesting aetherial implants. My wing suggestion was an example)
Once you complete the game on ultimate you get wings/implants (example) that boosts max run speed by 5%, +5% experience and +5% magic item find. These are named after your character that completed ultimate and can be designated to any character to make game progression quicker on new runs. The stats could be raised by +1 every time you complete the game.
New item slot bracers/wrist band.
This item has a specific elemental attribute. Every time you get hit the item builds up experience until it reaches maximum and you can unleash its unique power.
Treasure goblins (as a plagiarised example)
Random treasure goblins appear that drop rare components or blueprints that need to be chased before dissapearing. It could also be a runaway donkey with sacks on its back (non plagiarised example)
Horde.
An on screen notice displays “horde approaching”. This is a random event you must survive with a wave of difficult opponents. This would be introduced when you reach hated status with a faction. That faction will randomly attack you and you need to survive for a set time. Minute and a half for example.
Picking a 3rd class.
At lvl 50 you can pick a 3rd class. You can only add 10 - 15 points in mastery.
Ability to gamble to change item stats.
Day night cycle.
The day night cycle effects enemy levels in outdoor areas. All creatures are +3 levels higher at night time. There is a tavern in town to rest and change the night cycle to day if its too difficult. At night monsters drop unique or rare items.
Hiring Allies.
The ability to hire npc allies or pets. These may not need to make a significant impact. Each unique hireling could simply raise resistent levels a fraction. Sometimes its just fun to have a companion. Some npc’s may reduce aggro or increase it. Some may increase magic item find. Some may raise hp recovery etc.
Puzzle treasure maps.
Pieces of a map are scattered throughout the world and once all pieces are gathered you recieve a dig spot or secret cave/dungeon location
Summoning Revered Factions.
Not sure how it would work. Maybe you can summon a factions help for large scale war events like my suggestion for the random horde event of hated status factions. You are considered revered right, they’ve got to help you out? The cooldown would have to be significant. More than a couple hours.
Cool thanks for reading. Its already a great game with some unique and great ideas. I just thought id suggest some things i would like to see in arpg’s, and to extend replayability and add extra activities. I did not realise some creatures already got boosts during the night.
I like the horde idea, i was thinking in another post i did about wars between npc’s faction but this could be a good idea with it connecting to the faction status.
The treasure map or goblin thing, i can see where your coming from but what might be better is if upon killing an important atherial it opens a rift to there world where you can enter and plunder ( its like other games yes but the idea of it would add extra game play).
Things like wings and stuff i think is just adding unnecessary things as there is no real show of angels and demons in the game, BUT maybe the armour could inherit more of it surroundings, so drops from undead could look rusty and rotted stuff like that, For the ending you could always get some sort of special aura or something instead of wings or maybe a companion for stats.
Fair call Sarafel. It was an example. How about new item slot aetherial implants? Or elemental implants. I just like the idea of completing the entire game on ultimate and recieving something unique that will help with starting a new character. Something that would boost experience and speed. Or even an item that gains power/lvls up everytime you complete the game. Thanks for the replies.
And I’ve also suggested something similar to the horde idea. It would be nice to have, for example, if you were in Devil’s Crossing, a chance for a group of bandits (or any other faction that can be encountered in the area, i.e, aetherials, cultists or even beasts/beastkin) to attack the ‘city’. Defending it would give you a small bonus amount of faction points with DC. Same with all of the other settlement areas (Fort Ikon, Homestead and the one in the expansion). Also, I like the tavern idea just because taverns are very immersive in RPGS.
Which monsters? If so, then may be it’s a good idea to add some in-game clock (not the real time one), that shows the periods of the day: morning, noon, evening, midnight (like the one in WarCraft III for example) etc. Just to know when the monsters are stronger and the loot is better. It’s much more exiting to await the night for better hunting.
I’d like to have some merchants like in D2 btw. It’d be nice to farm gear for them and it’d be an interesting addition in build diversity. Or not humanoid merchants, but something like wild beast in cages (not necessary in cages, lol), that can be hired from the Beastmaster (a NPC somewhere deep in the woods, who lives in a wooden hut, not so friendly to people) to fight on your side: a big wolf, a bear or even boar and hawk. Different kinds of dmg types beasts. Or may be some more extravagant beast like briarthorn, hellhounds etc., something like that. To have a specific type of gear for them, which you loot from the new Beastkin Faction
Treasure goblins (as a plagiarised example)
Random treasure goblins appear that drop rare components or blueprints that need to be chased before dissapearing. It could also be a runaway donkey with sacks on its back (non plagiarised example)
I have suggested this a couple of years ago during Early access, would be fun but not really needed imo
Horde.
An on screen notice displays “horde approaching”. This is a random event you must survive with a wave of difficult opponents. This would be introduced when you reach hated status with a faction. That faction will randomly attack you and you need to survive for a set time. Minute and a half for example.
this I have asked for also, that you get a message or something and that the prison, homestead or any other npc camp will be under attack and you have to defend it for a few waves of monsters
As for the under attack idea, I see one general issue… Let’s say I DON’T want to stop whatever I’m doing and go defend them. What happens? You can’t kill off NPCs, or ruin the place…It’s needed. So without any real punishment for not doing it, the only incentive would be a reward. What reward could you possibly offer that would incentivize these random events, AND not make you feel forced to go do it? If it was, say, a legendary every time, you’d feel like you had to go do it…But if it was anything less, would you bother going to do it? I just don’t think that would end up sorting out well in the balance, at the end of the day,
Writs and Mandates are special scrolls which will help you accelerate the rate at which you earn status with the Faction that sells them. […]
As a testament to your dedication, reaching Revered status allows you to purchase a Faction’s Mandate. Mandates double all reputation gains but, unlike Writs, can be placed in your Shared Stash to use on all your characters.
Having towns under attack or factions and you need to help them, the incentive could simply be if you dont assist them you lose 500 faction points once all the waves have finished. If you win you gain +500 faction points. That would get me there.
If you dont assist them, say runaway from the battle, and the time runs out/ last wave hits, the aftermath could simply be dead bodies lying everywhere (however all main characters obviously live). Ofcourse if you die during the battle you lose.
I would also love to see a new rank after revered status. Godly? With the expansion coming up the current revered items the vendors sell will be long obsolete (equipment, not so much augments.) And these mini events could be a great way to boost faction points. Even out on the fields and having random events where hordes of hated factions continue to swarm you from all corners of the screen, could boost faction points.
Two mastery combination is more than enough. The way i see it, it would be a nightmare to balance 3 mastery classes. There would be just way too many combinations of skills and items and it would be a pain in the ass to balance all that.
Yes i know, it’s a single player focused game but that’s not an excuse to be not as much balanced as possible.
Yeah I can imagine it would be a difficult task balancing the inclusion of a 3rd mastery. But damn it would be interesting and thought provoking. Its also why i suggested restricting it to only being able to increase the mastery 10-15 levels, so that obviously you dont have access to some of the later stronger abilities.
The idea of an ally is good. When you reach the maximum level of a faction an ally could become available. Each faction could have a type of ally with different abilities. They could level up and we could change their equipment.
I would definitely like to see this in the game.
