I didnt know grim dawn existed until about a month ago, I barely got 100 with a mage hunter before expansion came, but I hit the ground running with this new char. It cut thru everything like butter. It isnt fully geared yet, as I am still a newb. But enough about me, lets get into my build!
I had no idea what this class would be like, I got oathkeeper to like 35 before I decided demolitionist would add useful fire stuff.
Fire kills everything.
I pushed to 50 oathkeeper skill and maxed divine mandate right away, even with only a point into other attacks it helped them out so much. I played around with a few things, but what I’m doing now is basically this-
Vires might, it was fun, mobile, but once I added that fire from volcanic stride, I let the burn damage do most of the work. Neither of these skills are capped, and I only put one point to tectonic shift for the extra range. But with +skills both are over 10, meteor shower triggers 100% off this skill, so it is my rush into start combat and rain fire move, and as soon as it’s CD is ready. Bam, more meteors.
Eye of reckoning I currently have at 20, I whirl around back along that fire trail and give enough range for the next vires dash/more meteor. I have this tied to the +shield block%/damage% devotion from hammer guy. It keeps up most of the time.
Guardians are fun, but it’s really about the -fire resist from celestial presence, max that shit.
Thermite mines. Holy shit, more -fire resists and fire damage! Max those too. They go off easy while using eye. And I have fissure on those.
I maxed safeguard, ascension, and enough clarity of purpose to get like 12% OA.
I maxed flame touch. And put a lot into vindictive flame for +speed.
Theres a lot of wiggle room, but I think I’ve currently got -80 fire resist to enemies, and nearly all fire damage, enough life leech to stay alive.
Blast shield and resilience work together to make you indestructible while they are up.
