My thoughts about this game

Really addicting game… it’s like crack! Help! I can’t stop playing! I’m actually more of a casual gamer…

The only things I wish were smarter enemies: you/they can’t attack through walls and they’ll sometimes switch strategy if they’re dying like healing themselves.

I also really enjoyed reading the lore and wish there was more of it.

Some of the events could do with more urgency. Some of the factions should really start to co-operate more with one another, in face of the various threats. As it is, they’re mostly confined by the act. Then again, it doesn’t really matter as that would require a lot of programming and alterations that could be better channelled towards the gameplay and design.

I’d love to see the developers allow quests with more spirits, not just for fun but to add more layers to the characters or story. Like: you killed Balros and Hagrad? Now you get to meet the real human spirits.

I specifically would love to meet Rowan the founder or the Emperor which would add so much to the plot and backstory. They can always have some excuse for them still hanging around, like “the commotion woke me up from my slumber” or “I was too depressed to move on”.

Alo, I know about RNG but the drop rate for common components has to be more balanced. For 1 of my characters, I did get 2 to 3 blueprints from lvl 3 onwards but I’d a hard time even getting common components like polished emerald, bristly fur, etc. By levl 17, had only 1 roiling blood, 1 bristly fur and 1 polished emerald no matter how many times I farmed. It’s a good thing I’d a few other builds to transfer the goods but I dread to think what would happen to a new player who’d just started.

Yes, I was using this site for reference:

I lost interest in the game after 300 hours of play … I got 5 purple items(1 main campaign an two drops and 3 crafted but uselles. I was pretty excited about grim dawn but now my excitement is over. If there is any update maybe I will come back. Otherwise it will be forgotten.

How did you manage that ? Run a dozen characters to level 40 ?

Going through Normal/Veteran is at most 40 hours and that guarantees you one legendary (assuming you make it to level 50, which is really not that hard, explore everything once and you exceed it).
So if you did that over and over, you have at least as many legendaries as you have - and that also is the least effective method of getting them… I find more than that (5) with one char going through Epic…

The final quest always rewards a legendary regardless of your level.

somehow I thought it could be an epic before that

It used to be. Was fixed sometime before the game left Early Access if I’m not mistaken.

You’re not, it is always a legendary from a small possible pool of legendaries now.
