Mythical Korvoran Chestguard Resistances

Mythical Korvoran Chestguard has up to 40% pierce resistance and builds using it have anywhere between 70-110% overcapped Pierce resistance. It wouldn’t hurt diversifying the resistances a bit.

Either:

  • 20/30 Bleed res
  • 20/30 Elemental
  • 20/30 Vitality
  • …?!

Would go a long way

I wonder more why it has +2 to Heart Seeker when it’s for pierce PB. But i do agree it needs at least one more resist.

Did not know anyone use this chestguard:)
Actually too many items needed in change of their resistances.

The problem is the same for most non-set legendaries made for certain builds. Cold damage? massive overcap on cold and freeze resists. Lightning damage? Overcap on lightning. Acid damage? Overcap on acid, etc.

Yeah but at least some of them like windshear boots or oleron pants got some other resists. Wearing this chest armor grants literally no relevant resistance

One of my peeves as well, would be nice if we could get a clean-up update and these resists were looked at so they will be spread more evenly.

Especially the single elemental resist ones are undesirable because many other sources add to all 3 at once and you end up with Ele resists that look like 80-50-80 (with the last one overcapped by 100) which means you need to spend 2-3 augments on the middle one.
Rather than an item giving 60 resist to a single element, 20 elemental resist or a different resist type altogether can open up or improve some builds that currently can’t cap all resists easily.

Can i use this thread to rant a little about Ultos set? The amulet gives lightning resist, the shoulders lightning resist and the second set bonus more lightning resist.

Then you have a measly 20%~ elemental resist on the chest and a cool 40%~ Cold resist on the helm. It’s kind of a pain in the ass to overcap fire resist with this. I think amulet giving elemental resist and the shoulders as well instead of just lightning resist would make things better.

I know some people say elemental resist is easy to overcap, but I’ve definitely struggled to even just cap one of three, sometimes even two of the three.

Sure. this is a reoccurring problem. Korovan build for example needs some pretty crazy MI/affix juggling to get resists and + skills right.

Ultos can be hard too on non conjurer (poison resist is easier) on vindicator(Aether/Chaos is a bit easier)

I still dont know why they added flat dmg for this item, especially its granted skill bonus for caster build only.

Eh, the granted skill is useful for any build that gets hit frequently (so basically any build), and the + to Heart Seeker is pretty much for the % chance to pass through enemies and the ADCtH. PB has a weapon damage component, which means Flat damage is relevant.

I still feel this armor is pretty weak compared to other Mythical legendaries though. It could use a modifier like +20% weapon damage to PB (or even +2 projectiles), since currently all PB modifiers are located on non-Pierce CD PB items.

i love the skill. The item is for a trickster/ninja type not melee and you get hit plenty anyway. And also what Ryzel said. A PB mod on it would be nice

Replace +2 Heart Seeker with +2 to Dual Blades and +2 to Ranged Expertise; -10% pierce resistance and -20% bleed resistance to Veil of Shadow.

coughs
Chestpieces don’t have skill mods

On the topic of resistance, it does need more
And Heart Seeker is for Crit Damage. The chest piece is good in it’s current state I use it for Pierce PB but a few extra resistances would do wonders

Nether Edge is the one with crit damage. Heart Seeker is the modifier that adds flat vitality damage, Bleed damage with extra duration and ADCTH.

Okay, make it a one piece set then

My bad was kinda distracted while typing that comment
