was just looking at the weapons while theorycrafting phys veilwalker.
Awakened Tremor seems to be a far superior weapon for said archetype and overall a far superfior weapon. full ele>phys conversion, 50% global pierce>phys and 100% pierce>phys for avalanche as well as some flat/% phys for Amatok’s Pact. Tremor’s Avalanche mod is just Leviathan’s but better.
Leviathan, on the other hand, is a sad and forgotten weapon. only 50% cold/vit>phys conversions, pretty mid mods for 2 wps and a proc that probably no one uses.
For starters, one can increase the cold conversion on Leviathan to 100% and probably get rid of vit>phys one since we can take Glad’s Belt any day for full conversion. Skill bonuses are also a bit all over the place (why +2 to cadence?). Granted skill could and probably should be turned into a wps.
BTW, Tremor reminds me of something. There’s a bug that hasn’t been fixed yet that chance dot on weapons (Tremor) cannot stack with dot from augment (Bysmiel’s Cunning).
When I first looted leviathan and got excited about how much wps chance it had, my next thought was just confusion because I didn’t really see phys support for veilwalker so I just never did anything with it.
I think the DA reduction on the granted skill should be replaced with something else. It overlaps with effects like Markovian’s Advantage, making it essentially redundant.
How about giving it a unique effect instead, such as armor reduction?
Here, they changed the chance dot to normal dot. There are several similar items having chance dot. They may need a list.
But to be honest, I quite like this chance dot design. If your attack frequency is high enough, you can guarantee triggering the high dot. Changing it to normal dot with lower values is a loss/nerf.
Procs are good but almost all of them have severely outdated dmg. How the hell can you sell a proc with 4 sec cooldown and 40% WD. Ok, flat values on it are decent, but they are not a scalable thus not exciting.
I really think Leviathan should be a cold weapon, but I’m a weirdo
Anyhow, hopefully Levi gets a look at and some love, because it is a lovely bit of art. I just feel it’s identity has always been a bit muddled ever since the cold to physical conversion was added.
