Blizzard is a very nice proc and should proc frequently in crowded Crucible, however, given that whole philosophy of Spellbreakers is kill before get killed, 200 more OA could make a lot of difference for killing times (also proc ring and weapon procs more frequently).
Planning to play this build in Crucible and in Main.
With the CDR that you have amatok is a very attractive option. If you are doing an hourglass cold build, you get amatok.
Seal of the night had one and only one purpose, for cold builds that are OA starved (if it had a lower mana cost there’d be practical builds revolving around chillspikes but alas). Of course it no longer has % OA so it’s just junk now. Get a coldstone. More flat, more % damage.
Mythical unseeing eye is something to be considered for the neck slot. +1 nightblade, health, DA and 3% more CDR with a max roll. You’ll have to weigh the tradeoffs based on your preferences. It might free up a runebound or two.
Blade burst is a 1 pointer. push Night’s chill as high as it can go. Overload isn’t worth a point. Arcane will is worth 1 point.
Ring of steel can absorb extra points if you desire more AoE (mainly for increasing crucible clear speed)
That’s a common opinion it seems, but to me, ~300-400 more flat from Coldstone is a lesser gain than more frequent Critical hits, since we stack so much OA% and two (not one, like dw-spellbreakers) of our on hit procs from gear depend on landing criticals.
Unseeing Eye is a common option, I am aware of it. I yet to test 40% cdr in Crucible. If it’s not enough, I might go with 6% CDR Iskandra amulet, which seems to be pretty amazing option damage wise.
I don’t get how blade burst is one pointer when it’s our second attack besides SS. And Night Chill is gonna give me ~7% additional RR when I already pack a lot? But I will still test it.
You can have amatok and a chunk of OA. 4 points dying god is 85 flat & 3% vs. chariots 55 flat & 4%. Granted this will come at a cost of health but I’m not hearing any worries from you on that front. It’s more amatok vs. chariot proc at that point, not amatok vs. the OA.
If you are aiming for the speediest kill times on targets with massive health pools blade burst offers more potential DPS than RoS. comparing each at 16/16
ABB:180% WD, 90 flat. 1.8s base CD
RoS:195% WD, 617 flat. 3s base CD
glancing at grimtools 16.5k - 20.9k cold (lets just say it’s 20k to be simple and generous here). estimate an overall +2600% on cold (including spirit).
No surprises here, ABB is statistically superior on this front. So why mention RoS? Bursts, cooldown resets and downtime. If you’re clearing trash RoS offers more up front damage. If you are proccing hourglass after using SS, RoS and ABB - two RoS does more than two ABB - and if you aren’t casting much more then you reach downtime when the target is dead. Lastly consider downtime, running to the next pack, shadow strike travel time. You’re not as likely to get ABB off just as it completes its cooldown every time. All in all this comes down to playstyle and preference.
EDIT: So far 60 DA and 200 hp (and useless Giant’s Blood proc) loss seems like nothing compared to the gain of ~250 OA after I went with your suggestion. PRetty sure it’s gonna transfer to Crucible too, damage growed exponentially.
Now I wonder if Iskanra’s amulet is the bis here too, that damage modifier for Mirror seems pretty seek.
You can try the above. You’ll need some hp on boots though. For crucible I’d replace sentinel shoulders with Zantarin cause you can have massive hp on it.
You can also look int myht unseeingeye for crucible. Lots of meat on it. DA HP +skills better CDR. OA will be fine with buffs, especially DA. Just need to tweak elemental resist a bit
Personally prefer Peerless Eye or Unseeing Gaze over Iskandra due to getting more skill points but Iskandra works well as well.
Eye should be BiS imo with Peerless a close second (You need better MIs to equip the former)
Your gloves and relic needed changing. I already made a feedback thread ages before Deathstalker was released requesting Cold RR on Nemesis pet, unless that’s considered I doubt Nemesis will ever be useful with those mediocre stats and that mediocre granted skill
Untransmuted PB >> Ss in crusible. Any investment in elemental ballanse is a waste at 3k oa- you barely crit at that point. Shadow dance provide increasing returns and should be maxed.
25% Crit with 3K and buffs is nice cmon. As for PB>SS I don’t know what you mean as far as flat dmg goes. SS can do 800k- 1 mil dmg in crucible:undecided:. Not counting forstburn. If you mean that it has nice AoE and life steal, yes it’s very nice
I want it all. Nidalla seems like a decent option, DA/Crit Damage, gonna lose that sexy cold flat tho. Pet is a decent add, procs weapon and ring procs, shreds da. Don’t have a problem with Rumour spreading, RoS gives 54% chance or something, if I am surrounded by more than 2 mobs, it always procs. Might test it once I get to Crucible. Your Devotion setup is kinda worse than mine tho.
How much more hp do I need on Zanatarin Shoulders to make it worth the dps loss? What kind of rolls too?
Yeah, I am aware of this option, 3% more CDR, but on paper 43% and 40% cdr seems like almost the same. Plus my Elena Necklace is just to sexy to give up. Althought I might consider Iskandra’s amulet, seems like a super solid choice as well.
Gloves are awesome. I tested Haruud grasp or whatever they are cald, and their pierce to cold conversion does not really give me a DPS gain, when compared to Crit Damage/OA/Flat Frostburn I get from Iceskorns (not to mention extra armor roll, because they are craftable). I can’t wear Peerless Eye, because it lacks CDR. Relic options are limited, it’s either Nemesis or Nidala. Both seem bit underwhelming for this build.
I have 3,6k OA on this build after Lethal Assault, so all the Crit Damage I get goes to work. Will look into Shadow Dance overcapping.
So anyone with a working Soulrend breaker that farms Crucible?
I know RoS seems ok enough, But outbreak is instant spread. I works like solael so it wont from a skill like warcry for example where it hits all enemies at once or RoS for that matter. The daggers each carry a high chance to proc, pass through enemies one at time, “infecting” everything they touch, and after that it keeps preading. Vs single targets RoS can fail you.
Also 8% crit will help both your flat and dots unlike flat cold. Also has higher % dmg values than nemesis and nemesis doesn’t have % forstburn!
Devotions: I haven’t played SB since pre AoM cause it was too stroing and got bored so i’d have to test again.
%CDR - Take it from JoV who polished this build to Godhood. EVery piece of % Cd matters. Every 1% CDR is 0.18 less mirror downtime. This was important to him as he was doing no buffs or banners.
Personally, if I’d ever do SB again, id only do it with 2x bitchin’ lox daggers. He was working on this too. That way you have so much burst power that you overcome the avid need for CDR
Shadow dance provide increasing returns and should be maxed.
Wait…holla ‘whaaaaat’? How does shadowdance provide increasing returns? Do you mean softcapping it instead of hardcapping it?
3% CDR may not seem like much, but being able to cutdown mirror by 0.3-0.4s maybe what you need to stay in the fight between the 2 mirror cycles.
In addition, a 0.1s CD on a skill like ABB effectively increases its DPS by ~10%, and its blizzard proc rate by the same amount. In this regard, they may just give you more burst than the ellena necklace you’re rocking.
30% Dodge - ~142% EHP
40% Dodge - ~168% EHP
50% Dodge - ~200% EHP
Every point in dodge provide increasing returns, same with DA. Shadowdance double-dip on both Dodge and DA =)
