Need assistance for building the most perfect glass cannon build with the HIGHEST SINGLE TARGET dps

note that you can get slowed, which slow res and over capped attack speed helps against.

No, that means you don’t understand that Bloody Pox is a debuff to monsters.

And as Ulvar said, if you’re dead, you can’t deal damage. So your obsession over “billion DPS” seems rather pointless. Shopping already squeezed as much damage as reasonably possible (I guess), but you’re not satisfied still. If you think killing Lokarr in less than 10 secs won’t suffice, then you’re out of luck probably.

Fevered rage do lower mod DA a lot which is translated to OA increase of yourself.

Dps glass cannons may work in other games but dying in GD is punishing

I suppose OP thinks 150% total speed is a player buff, that’s why he asked about speed cap XD

if you want to play “the most perfecr glass cannon build”, then you have to chose Witchblade- not Witch Hunter. Witch Hunter have a lot more physical resistance (from Dual-blade skill) and a heal button (P.Burst). On the other hand Witchblade got no healing button, lower physical res, Veterancy + military conditioning will allow you to invest more points to spirit (to further increase damage) without the need of physique points investment. And for the last part, you HAVE TO take Fever Raged skill of Bloody Pox. That Fever Raged will buff monsters and bosses more dam/OA/speed, so you will get crit more often and die a lot faster (so you will be more “glassy”). Hope this help

does not have blood of dreeg?

my bad  but i think chaos build without acid convered to chaos can totally ignore BoD, so no more physical res/ poison res/ health regen (for more “glassy” concept). i see the cannon build we got here already had over 3k5 OA, so we dont need more OA from BoD. Witch Hunter still need PB though, since it provide more atk speed for more damage. So Witchblade is still 0 heal button build

Your two posts have been glass cannons of a meme themselves KEKW

In all seriousness though, you can’t ignore BoD/AotG on any occultist… This and not using veterancy on soldier are classic examples of “saving on the wrong end”. You would need to invest components, augments or even entire gear pieces to fix poison/acid res and the phys res is basically lost and can’t be compensated for.

Most “glass cannon” concepts don’t work that well in Grim Dawn, because a cannon made out of glass simply can’t support shooting heavy amunition.
Chaos Witch Hunter, Witchblade and some stun jacks builds have the highest single target DPS afaik, so you are on the right track.

He asked for the “most glass cannon build” with definition ALL IN DAMAGE and IGNORE EVERYTHING ELSE. Thats exactly what i tried to give him. For Rah’zin chaos concept, all items/ devotions/ skills must have the best chaos dam/ OA/ Crit dam/ atk speed possible. Fr examle we take Gallow instead of Sailors Guide just because Gallow has 24% chaos dam and 6% dam to human (i think some wont even know there is a constellation name Gallow LOL). BoD and AoTG is a waste of skill points, since it gives only tankiness and little OA for a chaos build. You can have a look at @Shopping post (especially the devotion) and then @Skern still want “more glass and more damage” LOL
So. Seriously. This is not a “serious” thread in my eye. Not at all. “Why so serious @RektbyProtoss?”

No offence intended but playing such build in MP seems a bit egocentric/selfish (not sure about correct word).
I mean while you will be having fun the rest of the team will have to be concentrated on saving your ass from troubles so if somebody is not really into it then they might loose interest in playing with you.
Don’t want to be rude just another aspect of such build to consider.

I thought this ^ would make clear I know this is all not that serious
I mean your response what perfectly fitting. I just wanted to remind people of this entire thread being kinda ridiculous I guess.

Haven’t had time to read everything, but either [1.1.7.0] Rah'binger Witch Hunter wins the game: SR75+, Celestials, Crucible consistent <6 mins, 9.5 sec dummy, 3.8 sec MadQueen. All on the same 0 green build this (as banana said this is the highest single target DPS build in another post) or a shadowstrike infiltrator, like the WR one for CR. They basically delete anything they touch

I for one would LOVE to play as a support deceiver backing up a glass cannon, especially with a Witchblade Tank to pull all the aggro on-screen. With an offense focused WH glass cannon build serving out ass whoopings. I understand this isnt common but im that one guy who loves the MP team building roles and old school feel of party dynamics.

I have even been designing my own idea for an “MP only” 4-player league, which has the players filling “roles”, and building characters within a pre-established set of parameters that must be strictly adhered to. Its nowhere near ready to be implemented, and is intended to be a fun casual format of play with friends. Heres the basic gist, which I feel is somewhat relevant to the discussion since the optics are that no one ever plays this way…

Rogue-like Dawn: Rough draft concept

A Hardcore multiplayer-specific style of Grim Dawn play where each player fulfills a specific sub-class role, designed to emulate the feeling of a D&D party. Each sub-class has its own set of handicaps and gameplay guidelines that must be adhered to. This playstyle is designed to put players at a disadvantage individually, in order to promote a more careful and deliberate cohesion between players and their sub-classes, forcing the players to work together in a group to achieve results that could otherwise be easily attained in singleplayer/multiplayer SC without said restrictions.

This is a self-found game mode, meaning all players begin their builds using only the gear provided on their newly created characters, and gear found during the character’s journey, so long as it is legal for their chosen sub-class. If not, the player must unequip the gear-piece and go without it until a new legal piece is found. Accessing the stash and/or crafting items and gear is not allowed, with the exception of the Alchemist sub-class. Trading items between party members is allowed, however.

At level 20, players gain the option to choose a sub-class variant. Sub-class variants are unique versions of a sub-class which exhibit unparalelled expertise in a specific role or specialty, enabling the character to use gear, skills, and devotions that their sub-class is normally unable to use.

RECOMMENDED NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 4

List of sub-classes and their variants (you can make your own ideas, these are just examples. Feel free to expand on them, or offer constructive criticism, balance concerns, or whatever else) I was aiming to keep it at 4 classes but, lots of ideas keep popping into my mind. I havent gotten around to designing the specs for Fighter, Ranger, or Alchemist yet, but you can imagine what theyd be;
Rogue
-Cutthroat
Wizard
-Seer
Priest

List of universal handicaps and guidelines;
No more than 2 characters of the same sub-class can be on a team. IE; a team can never have more than 2 players using the same sub-class simultaneously (3 Wizards, 4 Fighters, etc). Teams must be diverse and balance their sub-classes wisely, with 2 of the same sub-class being the limit.

It has resistances so it is not offensive enough for the OP xD

Sad_lee there are no OA augments so that OP’s defenses can be even lower :frowning:

You mean OA Armor augments

@gutten_morgen Thx for the tips, and it’s not about serious or not serious, it’s just a question. Can you put the skills and everything on grimtools please ? the more damage version that you talked about

I still read every comment and try to find informations, you are welcome to continue if you want to help

PS : i’m still searching for the build that satisfy me

I am also a new player and I generally look for builds with high defense , just opposite of what you are searching for.

I can’t suggest you a grimtool link right now but I can provide some suggestions as far as my experience goes.

  1. First pick a play style - 2 handed or single or dual wielding , caster or channeling skills (I consider channeling skills like Ignaffar separate thing because that’s what I am weak at :no_mouth:)

  2. Pick a damage type WHICH HAS most available resistance reduction ( especially -X% resistance to that damage type because they stack)

  3. If you want massive damage , as in the MOST MASSIVEST DAMAGE (dps and not crit) then you need something that will hit the monsters of base game HARD and pop up those nice numbers on your screen.

In my opinion vitality, pierce, cold, fire lightning, acid hit the hardest ( considering the number of resistance Reduction available from various sources)

  1. CLASSES TO PICK - First preferences - Demolitionists, nightblade, necromancer, occultist, shaman
    Second preferences - inquisitor, oathkeeper.

  2. Attributes - if you are going for pierce damage put all points in cunning and rest to physique and spirit for gears.
Else all to spirit and then rest to cunning and physique for gears .

YOU NEED OFFENSIVE ABILITY (OA) to be able to Crit and increase your damage which specifically comes from Cunning .

  1. Devotions - type the damage type you selected in the search bar and select the constellations for max damage .

  2. My personal favorites glass cannons I play are using CHAOS damage(pyromancer) , acid sentinal, and another using lightning to physical conversion korvan wyrm primal strike warder (which is my first character ever) [ pyromancer and sentinel died once and then never again . They are SSF and all contents cleared ]

You may notice I didn’t mention physical or chaos in point 3 because I died 42 types using the warder in elite before even understanding that I have to use augments which was a bit frustrating .

I may post a grimtool link in the future . Hope this helps you to have an idea about how to begin to being a glass cannon.

Hit 11.5 million DPS (not single target) yesterday in 3 player with some friends. With skeletons I’ve managed about 3 million DPS vs. the dummy. Dunno if it’s the best DPS, but it’s no slouch.
