Believe it or not but I actually have a Nightbringer and ring of Basti but have not made the changes over to the new build before understanding what I am gaining.
Just wanted some experienced players thoughts on the following (in order of my concern):
I really like grasping vines. Is Sigil of consumption really that much better?
1a. Health steal on a skill only applies to damage from that skill correct? I think with Wildblood crusher and (I believe) higher DPS of Grasping vines, it should provide more healing than sigil. Am I wrong?
1b. Entangling vines slows enemy attack speed correct? Isnt this a huge increase to survivability or do bosses/nemesis mostly get immunity/resistance to this?
Wildblood crusher vs. Nightbringer. I love the +2 to Occultist skills and high physical resist on Nightbringer. It is probably worth the huge increase in survivability and utility but my melee DPS will go down a lot which I actually rely on a LOT and facetank things a lot. I can actually clear many boss combinations in SR better by facetanking than kiting because of my huge dps and life leech. Not that this is an achievement but I can facetank most 4 boss combos except for ones with Grava or maybe a tough one with the Obsidian trapping colossus guy. Just want to be assured that the second Nightbringer set up can actually bring the damage to comparable degree.
Is maxing Bloody pox really that important? To what extent are bosses resistant to life reduction?
Is one point in second rite really not worth it? I feel with enough +skill it provides a big melee dps boost for 1 point.
Is it really that important to put more than 1 point into curse of frailty? I think this build does only put one point but I see others that put more than 1 point… I don’t see the point for a vitality dmg type.
Is it really that important to max blood of dreeg? I get that it provides OA but other than that the other stats don’t seem to be that important. The healing isn’t that important because most healing comes from life leech.
Destruction only increses that vitality damage of vitality consumption right? It doesn’t give your character more +vit dmg or does it? In the former case, is it really worth maxing?
Is it not worth it to put 1 point in storm touched? This one I can understand since there isn’t much +shaman skills but still. I suppose I can see the same thing for brute force and feral hunger.
Can you tell me why mythical legwraps of the tranquil mind are so good? Specifically, does the 60% slow affect just the enemy movement speed or attack speed too?
I still haven’t found the girdle of stolen dreams and have substituted white lotus for the time being as a stop gap. Is there a better alternative?I know I really need the girdle for OA purposes.
Is ring of Basti really that good? Should I switch to cursebearer and ring of basti ASAP?
How big of a deal is it that I didn’t roll the vitality RR ability for my pestilence of dreeg? That one doesn’t seem that hard to reroll… but what about eldritch pact? That seems like a huge pain to remake that for the better +skill completion bonus.
Sorry for the wall of questions. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hi! Nice to see new players enjoying the game! Conjurer is a great choice. Vitality casters are my favourite builds in the game. Now to your questions
I love grasping vines too. But it’s not good for damage unless you go full wildblood. Sigils ARE so much better in terms of damage and lifesteal. You can stack you sigils and damage is good.
1a. Health steal of the sigils onlt applies to the damage from the skill yes. But the lifesteal is huge and with double sigils you’ll be unkillable, though I guess you’re pretty tanky as is.
1b. Correct. Most high tier bosses have immunity.
If you ditch the dark one’s and go full wildblood/part dark one’s hybrid then you can go full grasping vines for damage but you’ll lose double wendigo totem. I have a build like that i’'l have a link to my profile at the end. If you go full dark one’s set(current setup) then there’s no question nightbringer is better. You forget +2 to shaman skills too. And Acid to vitality conversion, health, cdr. Believe me there’s no comparison in the value that nightbringer will bring to your build.
No bloody pox isn’t important your observation is right. High tier bosses to a great extent. Bloody pox is useful for wasting and procing constellations.
The point is worth it if you see you build as a melee build. To me you have a great vitality caster/melee character here. Just max out sigil line as your main damage.
It’s not that important no. Some builds have points to spare, so it’s better aoe and cc but not that important if it feels right to you.
Again the same as above. OA is a really good stat in the game. Especially if you choose to go with sigils then you wanna crit enough cause sigils have huge crits. If you feel that your build is smooth then
you can keep it as low as you like. Aspect of the guardian is the must have and you have it.
Yes the %increase is tied to the skill. if you choose sigils, commit to it and get everything in the sigil line as high as it gets it is worth it. With nightbringer you’ll have partial conversion of the fire damage too.
In my opinion all three one-pointers you mention are worth it.
Never used them don,t know. The wendigomane pants are good for vitality builds and I use them a lot.
should be a great substitute especially if you go nightbringer.
Haven’t used so I don’t know. I would suggest mythical signet of the fallen for more rr. Cursebearer is good.
Eldritch pact is good. So is pestilence of dreeg( especially with nightbringer) even without the rr.
Your build is already strong you should be fine without it (though -10rr is pretty sweet).
Happy you chose vitality as your main damage and hope the answers help. This is the link to my profile https://forums.crateentertainment.com/u/spyrosagranitis/summary, I only have vitality builds and a bleeder. Feel free to browse and get ideas. Your build looks great as is. I would go nightbringer with sigils but play the game as it feels best for your playstyle. Cheers! Have fun!!
Sigil can have easy ways of boosting it’s damage via skill mods, Grasping Vines damage is low, but with Wildblood is very useful skill, fast AoE clearer.
Entangling Vines will not slow bosses, they are immune to that.
I suggest either Wildblood full set or Dark One set+Nightbringer.
Bloody Pox alone isn’t that great of a damage dealer, I prefer to max Wasting. Some Conjurers like Nightbringer do have skill points for both though.
One point maybe, but flat damage need Weapon Damage skills to be applied. Second Rite doesn’t boost vitality damage of Sigil for instance.
Yes, you need radius and duration for easier apply.
I usually go to 16/16 Dreeg, unless I am Acid build or need the OA.
Destruction is solely limited to Sigil .
Is optional, if you charge Savagery and have skill points, makes sense.
Your boots already have slow, so I would probably use Wendigomane. But Tranquil are top pants, OA, spirit, slow. Slow resistance is great way to protect from enemy debuffs. For melee is vital, cause less attack speed=less damage=life steal=dead. Also your cast speed or movement can be slowed, nasty effect.
Best possible belts are green MI LunalValgoth with +1 Occultist skills or one with chaos to vitality conversion. Mind that if you use Wildblood Crusher, take also the set’s belt
Not sure to be honest.
If you don’t have vitality roll is basically useless, sorry I would use(if I have it) Conduit with Sigil mode and Dark One set. Relic is worth it irregardless of completion bonus.
Also your jewel augments needs improving. Wraith Scream from Coven rep for vitality damage and OA or Irrah’s Blood from Solael Cult for vitality damage and DA.
Thanks so much for the feedback guys. Definitely learned a lot and confirmed some things I wasn’t sure about.
One kind of bottom line question… based on your answers I think that going nightbringer + dark one set is going to be superior to GV with Wildblood set. Is that an accurate statement?
For the Slow resistance, that completely blew my mind. I didn’t even think that slow resistance keeps them from slowing your attack and casting speed. So THAT is why slow resistance is so important. Makes me appreciate tenacity of the boar more. Also didn’t think about increased AOE for CoF.
I didn’t know about that belt! I will definitely start farming Gurblix for it. Shouldn’t take too long.
Thanks for the tip on Wraith Scream. As you can tell I have some weird augments and components. I had the rotflesh powder for +bleed resist but I need to un ***** my build and get rid of those. Probably will use an ugdenbog leather to fill the gap.
Oh one quick thing. I found a decent skull of gul’amash so not sure if you have any thoughts of going with Fang of Cthon or a different 1 hander but I think the answer is definitely stick with nightbringer. Just wanted to bring that up.
Hey! Happy you found our answers helpful! Now about fang of cthon and gul’amash i have to say that they are both really good and make for a great combo. You’ll have to respec kraken of course from your constellations and choose something else cause kraken is only for 2handers. I suggest you try both setups and choose what feels better to you. I think nightbringer will be better… Nightbringer+dark one’s > GV+Wildblood for sure(though the 2nd choice is still a good fun build).
