I am currently rolling a Spellbreaker and finally got to lvl 50 this morning. I am currently holding on 27 devotion points and I just rerolled from pure melee to Albretch’s Aether Ray build.
Thing is, I just came back to the game from a long hiatus and I am kinda lost in all those constellations. Do you guys have good Aether/Fire damage, Mana regen or Survivability constellation I should be aiming for ?
I use http://grimdawn.gamepedia.com/Constellation to research constellations. And then I go to https://grimcalc.com/ and try to patch everything together.
Well, there’s no wrong to invest in defensive devotion. So your safest bet is Order (yellow) and Primordial (blue) devotions.
If you look for more offensive, there’s Imp for Aetherfire and Widow for its Arcane Bomb that reduce Aether resist, as items that can reduce enemies Aether Resist is kinda rare.
Try to maintain a balance between damage and survivability but remember that dead characters deals no damage. If you play via aether - you extremely need RR to aether (I’m talking about the widow).
Grimcalk (tab devotions) is also very useful for planning builds.
I play Aether Ray very tanky + few must haves.
If you take Aether Damage as your main damage type it is recommended to go for Arcane Bomb (widow) and Acid Spray (Manticore) for reduced resistences (Very strong in GD)
I play my Aether Ray guy with this tanky Devotion Setup (is not optimized yet, but i think it will work (have only 33 Devotions, lvl 59 Elite)):
