Okay, I got the “Cleanse the corruption” quest from Mogdrogen this evening. This is the first time I got that quest, so I had no idea what to expect. I fought my way towards Gargabol Heart of the Wilds lair, and I fought the creature. After I killed him I thought it was over, but … surprise a second form popped up.
I have been playing this game long enough, so why I thought that a second form would not happen is beyond me. So his second form killed my Blademaster after a while. That is part of the game so no harm done. I retried the fight twice after that, and the result was the same both of those times. First form gets defeated by me, but the second form kills my character. Although I could hold on a bit longer both those times. ( Not much longer but still. )
So my question is … is there something I can do or change ( If I can? ) for that particular fight so that I can defeat his second form? Or do I need to get some more levels first and then try again.
You must understand that most posted builds here are 95% item dependent meaning if you dont have those items it will not work. Btw that build is from an ancient patch… almost 2y old!!!
A better blademaster build to follow if you are newbie is a dual wielding pierce cadance / Ring of steel build.
I think i’ve run that dungeon some hundred of times, after you defeat the first form, fire will shoot from the tree at you, you must not be hit because its -resist! and then he casts a fire wave thing, that is also a -resist! you will get 1 shot even with 15k+ hp, so, try to bait out his skills then dps, run and repeat, and of course don t stay in the volcano, that kills you.
Gargabol is actually a tricky bastard. Just don’t stay in his eruption (fancy balls that jump from the ground) and you’ll be fine. Cap your fire resists too. He plants two eruptions at once, which fire 6 - 8 at once, so basically, if you stay on it, you’re being hit by 12 - 16 projectiles at once, because there are two of those eruptions. It doesn’t matter if he hits you for 200 or 20 damage, it’ll still kill you.
Also, if you can, kite him. Jump on him, hit few times (less than 5) and run away, repeat till he dies.
