I don’t remember his name. He was an electric reanimator I believe. I’ve only encountered one other nemesis in the steps of torment, and while tough, I managed to defeat him. That was not at level 81 or on Ultimate difficulty. This time though, it was not pretty, even with potions. In the end I ran past him with my tail between my legs. I had been feeling tough since I was able to defeat Gutworm without a problem. Now I know the error of my ways.

Nemeses are a whole 'nother level.
Without proper preparation, Valdaran can oneshot squishes.
Nemeses on Ultimate can be a nasty suprise for people who never fought them.
I still remember my first fight against a Nemesis, it was against Benn’Jhar (Chthonic Nemesis). And it was a disaster, i pretty much ended up exploiting the fact that he can get stuck in the middle of his chaos mines, so i just pelted him with a ranged weapon until he was dead.
dont’know how is your build, what i can say about Valdaran is: get the higest possible lightning resistence (more than 80 if possible), get some stun resist (around 50% i’ll say) and don’t allow him teleport to you (or to teleport you by him). When he does that he hits you with a huge resistence debuff and very high damage. If you can, stay always in melee range. The only character i had trouble with Valdaran in Ultimate was my Warlock, because first times i encountered it i tried to keep distance, and after every teleport he blew me away XD
My first nemesis encounter was with Moosilauke, his revival was surprise but he was doable. Valdaran is a mess if he stuns you but still doable. The Iron Maiden imo is the toughest nemesis as she chain stuns you.
well i have to say your name ( honestly Chton ) look at her and dont be a P…Y ? (sorry but the boss looks VERY female ( annnd no insulting is meant by me )) yes she Freaks me out every Time i see her … (disgusting blood boiled P…? omg LOL ) but trust me on one thing if you play this game HARD and find out what is behind it … you will SMACK them back but this is harder then Cronley on Nemesis … lol even i get smacked on a tiny lag on crucible so what does it matter …to get one hitted as a good char . This is the game and i WILL never play it hardcore … like those aetherials who kill mogdrogen for Breakfast on ultimate haha … well i do not like this guy anyway … i better go hugging the bug man in edge ;D

and as a tank the maiden is a slow defeat because i dont do sooooo much dmg but i slowly put off her armor and dismantle her but she looks very sweet when bashing of her helmet … ;D well just kidding … i need about 90 sec to put off her gear … standing close and hugging ;D ( i should delete this post anyway )
