[Nemesis Relic] Summon Nemesis

I love the fact that the Nightblade gets a pet option with the Nemesis relic, unfortunately, it’s not a pet.

It’s OA seems abysmal compared to my other pets. At this time, my pets are doing thousands of damage and this guy is going about 300-400 (Including by Night Veil aura resistance stripping). I know it scales on player damage bonuses, but the base damage is so low that you need loads of bonuses to get those damage numbers up. Does the Nemesis use my OA?

Honestly, I think the best thing for it would be to convert it into a pet, giving more summoning build options that way it can take advantage of really interesting pet gear (like the Winter King set).

It tears things up for me. I use it on a hybrid build that has pet bonuses and I don’t really feel like it isn’t living up to the actual pets or that I’m really losing anything scaling to me vs. scaling to the pet bonuses. Could just be my perception, but I feel like he’s killing it on Ultimate.

I put Blizzard on Nemesis and it goes off all the time, so the OA can’t be that bad.

Curious, do you have anything that is stripping the DA of the mobs? I just can’t get this nemesis to crit at all. (I have assassin’s mark on him and its just not proccing at all.)

Do Wind Devil and Mortar and Blade Spirit use your own OA? I’d be kinda surprised if they didn’t. Nemesis should be the same, really. I mean, how else would you increase its (and wind devil/mortar/Blade spirit) OA otherwise when “Increase Pet’s OA” doesn’t work on it? It has to either be tied to your own OA or else it’d just be in some… OA vacuum or something, and that’d be weird.

(as an aside, pet OA is insane in part because there are so many +% to pet OA mods in the game. None of which Nemesis benefits from)

I use it on my Spellbreaker and I like that fact it takes a lot to kill the darn thing but the damage is nothing to write home to mom about. At best it takes some aggro off you but if you’re using Flash Freeze + Night Chill to aoe kill the Nemesis pet doesn’t really serve a purpose.

I haven’t explored other Relic options because I dont want to lose the +Total Speed or +Skills

Nothing like that. I think my OA is around 1800. I’ve never tried Assassin’s Mark with it though. Blizzard is really easy to see when it goes off.

So as a Spellbreaker I am looking at trying either Iskandra’s Balance or Belgothian’s Carnage to replace this one. I’m leaning towards IB since I have no +Arcanist skills right now. Anyone currently using one of those on another toon?

I use IB on my starcaller and I love it. It fits perfectly and there is a big difference in damage with both the inherent proc and the skill proc both going off. It’s a great arcanist relic for sure, as long as your damage types match up

It does depend on what type of spellbreaker you are doing though, can you give me a bit more information to help with your decision?

I’m going to keep rolling with it for now. I changed to some different Devotion skills and put Falcon’s Swoop on the Nemesis relic. The Nemesis procs it quite often which helps it’s dps nicely.

I pretty much Shadow Strike into mobs (will tie Elemental Storm to it on Ultimate), Flash Freeze and swing away with Beronath’s Fury which has Whirlpool tied to it. Pretty easy I never really need to stop and rest even with only 7900 health and 1030 armor.
