I’m new to the game and loving it so far. However, I am currently stuck on Elite Ekketzul. I realize that I need some fire resist but I am not quite even sure if the boss is beatable at my current level, class and gear/talent setup (Lvl 75 Deathknight, 2H Forcewave).
Also, I die so quickly fighting Purple Level 80 bosses in Elite. As far as resistance goes, what percentage should I be aiming for?
One last thing, what’s the best way to level from 75 to 94?
If you’re having problems meeting certain resistances,there are potions and tonics in the game that can help buff your resistances, i would seriously look into that.
In the mean time maybe try and check out grimtools and trade for some better gear? Or take a DPS hit and wear some beefier items with better resistances.
You can definitely beat Ekket’Zul at lvl 75 on elite for sure. He can cast a volcano fissure that will shotgun you if you stay on it which can take you to 0 very fast. He can reduce resistances by up to 30 and does high physical damage, fire and chaos damage. having overcap fire res is worth it or use a flame potion. He can be kited indefinitely very easily without taking much damage with some practice; his arena is quite spacious and he is slow because he casts stuff (they can be dodged/out-ranged easily).
Your resistances are not good. I recommend getting res on every slot. There are many bad blue items so nice green is best for res.
Your skill points and devotions are not ideal. Forcewave gets faster with casting speed which you have none of at the moment. take points out of internal trauma and get squad tactics, break morale is good too. Take a few points out of mark of torment (because the value per point drops off drastically) and bone harvest does nothing for you.
For devotion assassin blade is good for physical resistance debuff. You might want ghoul proc and/or attack damage converted to health.
Your components are also pretty bad. Scaled hide for armor absorb, wardstone, sanctified bone, rune stone, antivenom salve, restless remains, silk swatch/chains of oleron/hallowed ground. I think by now you can have all of these components. Just some suggestion for component to use for levelling.

I definitely need to get better resist gear. I have been saving both yellow and green amulet/neck/medal items with resistance. I’ve seen some green armor with resistance but a lot of them cuts my HP down but I suppose the resistance that I get overall will counter having less HP.
As for my devotion points, they are definitely not optimized as I am still learning the system and what works well for a deathknight. Same goes for my components.
I think I’m getting close enough to max level to start looking deep into my end-game build. I do want a 2h build with forcewave. I tried using 1h/shield with cadence early on in the game and mobs/bosses were dying too slowly. I need to find a class guide for 2h forcewave physical or aether build. Do you know any site you have come across with before?
