So I’m new but I like building my own builds with help from veterans of the games I’m trying.
So right now I went Demolitionist/Inquisitor (think it’s called purifier? Dunno)
So my general idea is to stack fire damage and dual wield pistols but I have a few questions. Using fire strike and Blackwater cocktail right now but I’ll probably add Grenado and a few other accommodating skills as well.
Does Firestrike, Ranged Expertise and Bursting Round stack when Fire Strike is on as default attack?
What should I stack stat wise? I figured Spirit/Cunning enough to use gear then all physique but should I prioritize a lot of Fire,Elemental and Burn damage too for such a build? I’m speculating based on my own common sense but I’m not sure about how well each stat scales in comparison.
This is really just a “In case it doesn’t work out” thing. What kind of themed or self made builds usually are easiest for first time players to make?
yes,
Ranged Expertise is a regular passive, it buffs anything relevant, %dmg affects all attacks/skills with the listed dmg type, flat dmg applies to weapon dmg and skills/spells with % dmg listed, speed affects weapon speed scaled attacks
yes, the general advice attribute wise is to put most into physique only into spirit cunning what you need for items, then respec at end as necessary (at end higher investments into spirit or cunning can be useful for some builds)
If you’re going for fire dmg orientation you’ll want fire % bonuses or elemental % dmg bonuses, flat fire dmg will be better than flat elemental.
As mentioned above %dmg boosters affect all relevant effects, so will boost both your firestrike and blackwater, flat dmg only affects weapon attacks and skills/spells with %weapon dmg mentioned, in your case currently just fire strike.
An item with +54% fire dmg bonus or an item with +54% elemental dmg bonus would boost your dmg equally. %elemental boosters are applied equally to all 3 elements (fire/cold/lightning) so 100% ele is the same as 100%fire/cold/lightning. Flat elemental dmg bonuses are divided evenly into the elements, so 12 flat elemental is 4 fire 4 cold 4 lightning, so in your case a bonus with 12 flat fire would be better than 12 flat elemental, but flat elemental would still be better than nothing (if on items or devotions etc)
*keep in mind Burn bonuses are separate from fire or elemental, it has to say burn specifcially (or bonus %all dmg), since just fire or just elemental doesn’t’ boost burn dmg
“anything” soldier or shaman is usually pretty simple.
as for general classes/builds, in no specific order: vitality casters, pet conjurer, warlord, warder, blademaster, paladin seems pretty solid.
Thank you!!! This game has a ton of build diversity but I’m super grateful the stats (although many) are very direct and only takes common sense to understand.
lmao, i just noticed i completely forgot to address the burst round/firestrike interaction
Bursting Round is what’s called a WPS, weapon pool skill, it’s a special type of “proc”(quotes matter) that only apply to auto attack and default attack replacers(DAR); such as fire strike.
WPS acts as sorta a multiplier to your DAR/Fire Strike, along with effect enhancer. the “pool” part comes from them being sorta combined, so when you reach 100% total WPS you never deal just basic auto attacks, or in this don’t deal unmodified Fire Strike dmg.
Burst Round does X%weapon dmg + flat dmg, in an aoe field, that means suddenly your firestrike dmg doesnt’ just apply to a single target. If you used chill rounds, you’d get multiple fire strikes “per shot”, because a singleround of chillrounds shoot 3-4 depending on 1h, dual wield or 2h.
The way it mechanically works dmg wise is you take fire strike weapon dmg, ex rank12; 122%weapon dmg, multiply it by the %weapon dmg of the wps if we take chill rounds rank 6; 80%WD, + DAR and WPS native/direct flats, so
122*0.8 = 97.6%weapon dmg (whatever that amount is for you) + 38fire 29 pierce & 29 cold “per projectile”, ie can hit same target for 97,6%wd +38+29+29 x3-4
if we use Burst round rank6 for 129%WD+48phys+58fire we get 157,398%weapon dmg +48phys+96 fire applied (once) to all enemies in the 3.5meter field around the centre target bullet hit.
*examples used with base values and no player %bonuses or boosters applied, ingame your actual weapon dmg will be X based on weapon dmg and global flat bonuses (like Ranged Expertise) and the native/direct flat on Firestrike or WPS will display as already being affected by your %dmg boosters
